    • Weight conscious shoppers beware, but otherwise good motors
I'm working on a fully custom project drone that I'm creating with a 3D printer and assembling all of the electronics together myself. These iFlight XING 2205 23000KV motors were the exact size and KV rating that I was looking for to complete the build on a 4S 210-sized drone setup. What caught me eye on this set, specifically, is the stated weight of each motor, at just 13g. As with anything electric, and especially aircraft, power to weight ratio is an important piece of the puzzle. I had build my drone specs to utilize up to 35g motors, but the weight savings I was going to gain on this particular set seemed pretty impressive and would allow a higher P/W ratio. Once I received the motors, I promptly weighed them to find that instead of the advertised 13g, a single motor actually weighed in at 26g. Not a deal breaker for me, but the false information is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. With the falsely stated weight aside, I've had these motors and up running for a few flights with a fully charged 4S battery and can say they definitely handle all the power my ESC's can send them. I've suffered a few small crashes and they don't seem to mind. They have plenty of torque and power to make my drone fly with minimal throttle. These motors do not have directional markings on them which is not a problem since they are driven by ECS that are able to drive the motors in the correct direction based on how you set them up (BLHeliSuite in my case). The propeller shaft screws all tighten in the same, CW direction. The top part of the of the bell has a rougher surface to grip the propellers, and the shaft nut on the top is a locking nut. Each motor came in a small individual box which encased them in soft foam to prevent damage. Each motor came with 1x shaft locknut, and 5x M2 screws. I was pleased to see that the M2 screws were also pre-treated with loctite. Overall I'm happy with the motors and they seem to work reliably well in my setup. They are balanced well and although they are heavier than expected, are a great component to run on my drone. ... show more

These iFlight 4pcs XING 2205 2300KV 4-6S FPV Motors 12x12mm Mount Hole for Cinewhoops are absolutely incredible. With the weight of action cams trending upwards these past few years I've begun feeling as cinewhoops have needed to boost the power to keep up. Luckily, the market agreed as this year has seen the release of more powerful cinewhoops and the components to support them. As far as motors go these have the fine pedigree iFlight is known for especially with their Xing and Xing-E lines that I've used on at least 4 of my builds with this being number 5. 2205 is such an intriguing size for a motor and I'm vibing with how good these feel even when flying with a full-size Hero 9. By far my favorite quality of these motors is how much resolution there is midway through the band that enables a level of control that quickly inspires confidence in their ability. My build for these motors used the HGLRC Veyron 30CR frame, the HGLRC F730 stack with the F722 mini and 30v rated ESC. I've used both 5 and 8 bladed props with my preference being the eight bladed props because they felt better to fly indoors, but they both were neck and neck, and I would gladly fly with either one any time. Overall, these motors deliver with nuanced performance that exists in a class of its own. 5/5 stars and kudos to iFlight these are exceptional motors, and I can't express how much I enjoy flying them. ... show more

have to run motors at 75% output or they start breaking up and jitters the xing 2 are true 6s my go to 2306 motor 16 x 16mm 100% output .. seems the xing original's struggle on 6s , the axis flying 2205,6 are the ones I use for 12 x 12 mount true 6s 100% output no problem

iFlight XING 2205 2300KV 4-6S FPV Motors are very good high quality motors. I haven't had any of them fail on me yet. I put these on a custom built 5" FPV quad. They have been giving me amazing performance on my new custom built FPV quad. I would really highly recommend these motors.
