  • Easily the best driver I've ever used
The bits are all very high quality, and so are the drivers. The end caps rotate freely, but they aren't loose, so you can trust them to hold the driver perfectly straight while you're changing grip. The bits all fit snug in the drivers, and the magnets are the perfect strength to hold screws steady. There's a wide arrangement of bits, plus a couple extra special tools that you may or may not need, depending on the work you're doing. This includes a Schrader valve release for working on bikes, a SIM eject tool for working on all phones, and a special bit just for working on iPhones. Overall, I think it's definitely worth the price for the quality and just the sheer amount of bits you get. If you need an all-in-one set of tools, the Pro Tech kit might be better for you. That includes much fewer screwdriver bits, but you get all the common ones you might need, plus a range of tools for opening electronics. But if you have those tools and just need a lot of special bits, you might as well get them all with this one. ... show more

  • The iFixit Manta Driver Kit: A Techie's Dream
If you're a DIY enthusiast or a techie who likes to tinker with devices, the iFixit Manta Driver Kit is an absolute must-have. This comprehensive set boasts an impressive array of high-quality screw bits, ensuring you're prepared for virtually any repair task. The Manta Kit's standout feature is its extensive collection of bits. From the most common Phillips and flathead to specialized Torx and Tri-wing, this kit has you covered. The bits themselves are crafted from durable materials, ensuring they won't strip or break during use. While the Manta Driver Kit is exceptional, one minor improvement would be to include a locking case. This would provide added security and prevent the bits from getting lost or misplaced, especially when transporting the kit. Overall, the iFixit Manta Driver Kit is a fantastic tool for any DIYer. Its versatility, combined with the high quality of its components, make it a worthy investment. ... show more

  • Quality Kit
Great kit that I've used every single day for the past 4 years now as a Diesel Mechanic and automotive mechanic, also use them in Tech repairs and daily around-the-house work. I will add I have never used any of these bits in electric drivers or drills. Only used the provided drivers for these bits. Cons -The case has 4 cylindrical magnets on 4 corners of the base to hold the lid on. The plastic on the edges is very thin and can be damaged easily causing you to lose the magnets making the lid easy to fall off. -The foam that the bits and drivers sit in is black, and the text for the type of bits you have is also black, making it very hard to see what is what. If you have a handful of bits out you will need a light to see where they go or memorize where each bit goes. -The thinner bits like Torx, JIS, Security Torx, and some of the smaller phillips and flatheads can be damaged easily If you use them a lot. The edges break off on the torx bits, the flat heads can bend if your screw is a little hard to get out. -The magnet that holds the bits to the driver is pretty strong, taking out the larger Phillips bits can be a little rough if you don't have a strong fingertip grip, the rest of the bits I have no issue with. Pros - The Drivers are very well built, they have taken a beating throughout the years and even saw time being used as a small temporary hammer. - Large variety of bits - Foam has not been stretched or lost its grip on the bits, except for the Hook driver it's always been loose. - If you use it for work it will pay for itself. ... show more

  • Nearly perfect but not without shortcomings
I have worked in the technology field in one form or other for the past 33 years, in that time, I have bought countless screwdriver sets, from cheap, no name sets to expensive, German precision screwdrivers, the iFixit Manta kit strikes a very good balance with price and quality. I’ve owned this kit for about four months and having used it extensively during that time, I’d like to give my opinion on it. The quality of the bits are good, not quite the same league as Wiha, but certainly better quality than majority of the precision screwdriver sets you’ll find on Amazon/eBay. The 112 bits included in the Manta kit are really well thought out and include a bit for 99% of what you’ll encounter in the field. I’ve used this kit to take apart a MacBook, Dell XPS laptop, various desktop PCs, a microwave, PlayStation and an electric scooter just to give you an idea how I have been using this kit and I haven’t experienced any issues with stripping any screws or bits. I really like these drivers, they have a comfortable ergonomic shape with nice heft, knurled grip and super smooth bearing cap, having said that, it misses the mark in in one key area -reach, the 1/4” driver is about 6” in length and the 4mm driver is about 4” in length, I’ve run into several situations where a screw was out of reach with these drivers, and as a workaround, I’ve included drive extensions for both the 1/4” and 4mm drivers in my kit. luckily, the extensions fit between the rows of bits and the case still closes without issue (see photo) I repurposed the 4mm extension from an old, cheap set I no longer used, and had several 1/4” extensions laying around the shop, but they are quite common and available at any hardware store for a few dollars each. My other gripe with this kit is the markings on the foam are extremely difficult to read. Other than that, it’s a solid kit and it has a lifetime warranty, who still does that these days!?! ... show more
