      • Lots of variety in bits
    the bits are high quality and come with a lot of them. the screwdriver is free spinning so you don't have to spin your wrist on every turn but only when cranking them really tight it really is a wrist saver. the case is great its three pieces a top plastic shell and a bottle shell with a nice foam insert to keep everything in place. the top part of the case has a grid to keep the screws you remover separated and organized. the case is held in places with 4 magnets which i haven't had any problems with. ... show more

      • It Ain't Cheap but It Saves You Money
    I love using this kit and it has saved me ton of money preparing items that would have otherwise been difficult to repair. The quality of the components is great and it does a couple of things that I think really set it apart. First, the bits don't snap or twist (within reason). I have had other micro driver kits that are a nightmare to use because the smaller bit bend, twist, and even snap off without much force. This kit does not suffer from that. I am able to apply a more than reasonable amount of torque and the bits just seem to take it. Two, if you do happen to break or otherwise ruin a bit, iFixit (true to their ethos) sells individual replacement bits for these sets on their website. That is GREAT. ... show more

      • I Have The Power
    I bought a Sony PSP and couldn't get into it without a Torx screwdriver, so I bought this. I'm not a handyman or anything and this was my first time plopping open a handheld electronic but I got through it with no problems. Ever since I fixed my PSP, i've been fixing all kinds of stuff. Installed a motherboard, heatsink, and CPU in my desktop. Even just opened up my phone to install a thermal pad to the heatsink. It has basically every single type of screwhead you will ever need and getting into stuff is a breeze. It comes with two different types of screwdrivers. The main one, which is a nice,sturdy, metal piece with grooves for added grip. And the design of it is pretty neat. Didn't think i'd compliment a screwdriver design, but it has like a spinning bearing on the top that surprisingly makes screwing things in or out a lot quicker. It's also magnetic so you'll be keeping track of screws easily, unless it's kind of heavy. The second screwdriver is like a long noodle thing which honestly I haven't found a use for quite yet. I assume it's for more precision or hard to get to work. It attaches to the main screwdriver. So reaching stuff shouldn't be a problem. The housing for all the screwheads and screwdrivers are pretty neat and dandy too. Comes in a hard plastic case that is secured by pretty strong magnets. At first I thought the magnets would pop off at some point along with the top, but it stays on as if it was kind of secured with a latch so it's surprisingly functional. The screwheads come assorted with labels so you'll know exactly what screw type you're reaching for. All resting in a nice soft foam. Honestly, i'd recommend just kind of having this around the house because you never know what exactly you'll be getting into, and this has just about everything you'll need.       • Great Kit
    Love Ifixit kits, this is probably the best intermediate size set. Perfect for everyday uses, and even some one off uses like fixing your glasses or other things. Ifixit kits also have smaller ones which may be great if you are just looking for a tool set for at home.

      • Great tools, don't like the case.
    The tools and sockets are exceptional. The selection of bits are well thought out. The driver is nice quality and easy to grip. What I truly hate is the case. I'm surprised so many reviews comment on how nice the case is. Functionally I find it terrible. The magnetic lid seems temperamental. The foam slots used to hold the bits seem like a very lazy design. The markings on the foam for each bit are very hard to read. Trying to wedge the driver and extension out of the foam can be a chore. This can be seen on any youtube video. It seems many reviewers shill for the IFIXIT brand. My guess is they get the free tools. As a consumer, I say they're good with too much emphasis on packaging presentation and not on useful design. I would have preferred a better case. ... show more

      • iFixit is great
    Not a fan of the Communist imagery in their documentation, but I do appreciate their efforts to bring attention to and defend right to repair for consumers. Excellent tools and tutorials across the board. Linus sure did seem to copy their precision driver design, but hey, iFixit's is cheaper.
