Features

  • [Large Wire Crimper] Our large HX-50BI battery cable ring terminal crimper is designed to securely connect cables, electrical devices, and other power mechanisms in harshduty scenarios by crimping 8, 6, 4, 2, 1, and 1/0 gauge battery lugs.
  • [Rotating Die Set] Compared to stamped dies, EDM cutting dies are more dimensionally accurate and reduce incorrect crimps. Rotating die is compact for quick die changes. When size coded crimping done correctly, the connector will have the die code number embossed on it so that it can be quickly checked to see if the right die and connection were used.
  • [Hex-Crimping] A strong mechanical connection is made via hexagonal crimping, which produces a wide area of high pressure contact between the cable and connector, leading to low resistance and high pull-out values.
  • [Where to Use] You can use it in commercial vehicles include emergency vehicles, generator sets (Gensets), recreational vehicles, trucks, cranes, and lifting equipment.
  • [Cable Cutter] Our LK-60A Cable Cutter is made of chrome vanadium steel for maximum strength and durability, with beveled cutting edges and induction-hardened. It can easily cut through copper and aluminum cable up to 1/0 AWG with a sheartype jaw and not intended for use with steel or ACSR cable.

  • Works great, but there's a trick
Model: Cable Tool
Bought this tool to redo the battery cables on my 2006 Escalade ext with a custom dual independent alternator/ battery setup. Works great, only thing is, you can not just set the terminal in and crimp in one go as it will pinch the copper on both sides as the two halls of the tool come together. And you're left with two blades of copper on each side. I find it best to start a crimp about 1/3 of the way, turn it to realign the corners, go 2/3 this time, then turn it again, and finish off the crimp. It won't pinch the copper and you're left with a perfect hexagonal crimp. Most of the 4 to 1/0 terminals i was able to do 2 or 3 crimps side by side depending on you long the terminal is. The tool itself feels pretty sturdy, and appears to be able to handle the stress of crimping. The only thing is, that it is pretty cheap, so while the handles and most of it is tight, the dies themselves wobble a little bit, which doesn't really affect the crimping any. For the insanely low price of this tool, id say for the vast majority of DIY guys, its great. If you're a professional who needs to make dozens of crimps a day, this is not for you. Buy a professional tool. But if you're like me, who may use this tool on average once a month or less, this is the tool for you. Also, this tool actually does have the gauge of wire stamped into the dies. Not like some other tools on Amazon that only list the millimeter diameter for some dumb reason, and then you have to convert. ... show more

  • Does exactly what they should
Model: Cable Tool&Cutter
The crimpers are designed well, have settings sized and marked for American standard connectors, and work well. The cutters are sharp and do their job.

  • Great crimper and does what it needs to do.
Model: Cable Tool
This is my first battery cable lug crimper, so I can't compare the quality, ease of use, etc to other types. All I can say is that I have crimped many 2 gauge battery ends with this tool with no issues or problems. So, this is a great tool for what it does. Have fun!
