Very efficient little icemaker for its size. I was hoping for a few more ice cubes per pass, but considering its size, it actually does well. The first couple of passes it makes rather small ice cubes, but once it gets going, they tend to increase in size and maintain that increased size until it runs out of water, or you stop the machine. They tend to melt rather quickly in drinks, compared to regular cubes that are solid, since these are hollow inside. Overall, they aren't bad, just don't expect them to rate up there with commercially produced ice cubes or ice "slabs." It's easy to use, easy to fill (best with distilled water to avoid the accumulation of minerals inside the working parts.) And the "timer" goes off each time it is done with a pass, only the timer is just the rattle of ice pieces being ejected into the little removable basket that catches the finished pieces. That "noise" is basically the only thing that you hear with the operation. ... show more

I got this for my husband for Christmas. Didn’t really think he would like it, but he loves it! It took about 45 minutes to make the first whole batch. I just put more water in it and hear it making ice already. It’s like crushed ice which he likes. I would definitely recommend this product.

I love that its the pebble ice and not the bullets. It is easy to use. Just fill with water (I used filtered) press the button and it starts to 'brew' ice. Its not really as loud as claimed; It does make noise but its not that bad and its only while its making the ice. It fills relatively quickly but takes about an hour to fill up completely. The ice bags included is a nice touch. The little scoop attaches to the side of the ice maker with a suction cup which is nice for sanitary reasons. The ice comes out separate so it doesn't clump, although once you put into an ice bag it may. Nothing a few whacks with something can't fix. The only drawback is that once it is filled-it doesn't keep the ice cold. IT IS NOT A FREEZER. That said, if you keep the lid closed it takes awhile to melt so you'll still have ice for a few hours. It doesn't take up too much room, either. All told I stay alot more hydrated since I really enjoy beverages with this type of ice and a straw so my water intake has increased (which I needed.) So if you're looking to stay more hydrated or have fountain-type drinks-this is that machine for you! FYI to drain the unit there is a plug on the bottom. The cord is pretty long so it does reach my sink to drain but otherwise you can simply pull it forward off the counter and put a pot underneath the catch the water. ... show more

We love this ice maker. It produces what I could call hospital or chik fil-a style ice. The nice small, chewable nuggets of ice. Operation is super simple. Pour in the water and turn it on. Within 3 minutes we had ice being made. After about 15 minutes of making ice you have to either move the ice around or empty the hopper. If you move the ice, that will buy you another 10 minutes before you will have to empty the hopper into a bin and put it in the freezer. Now when you freeze the ice, it all freezes together. So make sure you have a metal ice scoop, ice pick, or old knife to break it apart. Once you break it apart it will stay that way until you add freshly made ice. While it is not whisper quiet, it is not loud either. Does it make some noise...yes. Is is distracting? No. It just background noise. Overall, you cannot go wrong with this ice maker. I bought this for my mom who is 85 and in assisted living. She has only one kidney and has to drink lots of water in a day. This ice machine in so easy for her to use. She goes through a lot of ice in a day and this machine it perfect for her. She makes the ice all day and puts in her freezer. She can use the machine easier than ice trays due to the arthritis in her hands. The size is perfect for her countertop as it does not take up too much room! The media could not be loaded. Size is nice. That's were it all stops. We bought this a month ago... the first one broke moments after it made ice. Sounded like something jingling inside from shipping. Gave them the benefit of the doubt and exchanged it for another one. This one-- same jangle came after we moved it from one counter to the other. This machine is the NONMOVABLE kind of ice maker I guess... once its moved off the manufacturing line it will never work well again... Do yourself a favor... put out a couple bucks more, rearrange your countertop to fit a bigger one, and buy the nicer machines on amazon that actually work. The ice barely is enough for two people when the basket is full... it takes forever to fill it... and, when this machine is working, its quiet the first few days, and lordy, lordy, is it loud. We've had a few different brand ice makers... this is by far the worse machine on the market in my opinion. ... show more
