      • It does the job
    It does the job. The user interface is not intuitive and it takes lots of button presses to do the job, but for the money it serves me well.

    Three major problems: - On attempt to register and upgrade scanner got a message that "User is already used". Well, if user is already registered then why I've got the message then?! There is a faulty logic in the algorithm at least, not saying that I've got in the loop that either I had to register, which I wasn't able to or quit, so I was never able to upgrade it. - Support from iCarSoft was non-existent, sent multiple emails to Davies, then called, like 100 times at different time of day - nobody answered over a month, ever! Hope they're safe there and doing ok, but that's what I had to deal with. - When tried to connect to my car, I've got some data which was ok, but in values field I was getting SLONG, SWORD, which are internal variables types and should never be displayed!!!, so code is buggy at least to say. Have other iCarSoft scanner for my bmw but never saw such untested version... looked like it never passed their QA if nobody ever noticed such simple bugs... BTW, watched youtube review and some guy was reviewing previous version and showing some functionality - same data types SLONG, SWORD displayed all over. I'm just wondering the nobody out of who purchased those VAWS3.0 noticed it and new version has the same ugly cosmetic though issues? - On the box I've seen mentioned "Activation" and wasn't able to see any when plugged scanner to my car, not sure where to look for help on this either... These are my brief observations, I wouldn't say complains, I'm sure they'll fix it in future... but the only feature that I like about these scanners with 4" screens and therefor they don't have internal batteries and no power supply needed to worry about and work of the car's 12v power. ... show more

    This is a very capable tool. It is capable of much more than my 2000 Audi will accommodate. Sophisticated box, unsophisticated car. I'm still learning all the functions the box can perform so perhaps unsophisticated user is applicable.

      • ZERO stars: no VAWS cars after 2022
    Higher price, seemed better product. BUT only after purchase, contacting manufacturer, and a firmware update was it evident that this device (per iCarsoft) "does not support VAWS cars after 2022" and "we'll put this on our to-do list". Really? After two years no update and the 2025s are coming out shortly. ... show more
