We have two of these excellent bookshelves. The first one came with a damaged leg, but I didn't realize it until I had finished putting the bookcase together. The leg--the metal side, which comprises a front and back leg--was dented-in near the bottom of the front, causing the bookshelf to wobble unless pushed flush against the wall. The item came with a note from the seller asking customers to email in the event of any problems with an order. Since only the leg was damaged, and I didn't feel like taking the whole thing apart and figuring out how to box it up for return (which, aside from being a pain, struck me as a wasteful thing to do), I emailed the seller asking if he would please send me a replacement leg. The seller, Jack, replied to me immediately and offered me two options: a replacement leg or a refund of $40. I said I'd prefer a replacement leg, and Jack said OK. Shortly thereafter, he emailed me again and explained that the warehouse was out of replacement legs, and, thus, he would send us a new bookshelf free of charge. All we had to do was order the item, and, once it had shipped, he would issue a full refund. And that's exactly what Jack did. So, we have two of these bookshelves. They are nice-looking, sturdy, and useful pieces of furniture, and our experience with the seller could not have been more positive. In all my years of shopping, I have never bought a product that was as well packaged, labeled and very protected from any shipping damage. The materials used in this furniture piece are of a very high quality and absolutely gorgeous. The instructions were very clear and the way the different parts are labeled is absolutely perfect. They even give extra replacement parts of each type of part used and the necessary tools are also provided. I have always been a Sauer customer, but not now after buying this bookcase, which I put together by myself. Of course it took longer than an hour but it was sheer joy!
