We bought this for our granddaughter for Christmas. Watched her open it up and get excited. Put a set of batteries in, followed the directions for preparing the clay. Put the clay on the wheel and watched it bog down and come to a stop. Well shucks Merry Christmas to you too. We went to the store the next day and purchased fresh batteries. I figured the ones we had on hand were old and just had failed. I put the brand new ones in, set the clay on the turntable and found even with new batteries, it would not turn well enough to actually shape the clay. Absolute piece of junk. Wished I had looked at the reviews before purchasing. This wheel is a piece of junk. Much like the other buyers who rated this product a one-star, the machine bogs down and doesn't go fast enough for the wheel to actually work. Got this as a gift for my niece and I'm disappointed I wasted my money - she's resorted to using the wheel just as a stand and is hand-sculpting the clay. ... show more

It would have zero stars if possible. I was skeptical with half the reviews positive and the other half negative. Definitely negative. It’s super noisy and you can’t touch the clay on the pottery wheel without it stopping the spinning. Kinda defeats the purpose. I told my kid to play with the clay like play doh.
