Currently using only the 999 model. Have 5 - 36" models, 1 -30" model. Also recently ordered 2 more 30" models and 1 - 48" model due to how well the others have worked. Original 30" and 36" lights have been running daily for just shy of a year with no issues and plants are flourishing. When i ordered the last 3 - 36" lights for my 40 breeders and a 60 gal. one arrived and would not power up, shot a video of concern and notified customer support, a new power pack (plug) was sent out next day. Unfortunately it took longer than it should have imo to receive and delayed the tank getting set up with the others. When setting up i highly advise, depending on what plants your growing and your tank depth of course setting the light at no more than 40% (low light, no Co2) and trying it for a couple weeks. Instead of blasting your tank with full light which will undoubtedly cause an algae outbreak. I currently use them on a 29 gal(30% diy mode), 2 - 40(30% 24/7 mode with 1/2 hr 25% green night light) gal breeders, 60 gal(40% 24/7 mode same as 40 breeders) and on a 135 gal(diy mode) only the 135gal is at 50% with low light plants. (no floating plants for shade in any tank) These lights are strong. All tanks set at 10 hours after being at 8 hours for a month. Love this light. Super bright and easy to program! This light covers every inch of my 75-gal tank. White during the day and blue for a couple hours in the evening. The blue really settles down the African Cichlid's. Great price

    • Great light but confusing controller

This light fixture puts out plenty of light for my 5 gallon planted aquarium. I like that it is programmable, fairly easy to setup, and sits nicely on top is the aquarium over the flat, glass cover. The fixture is sturdy and seems well built. I removed 1 star because the controller is not easy to use. Tweaking the settings is a bit of an ordeal. The buttons are difficult to push and must be held in to select a function. This sounds so much easier than it is. It takes several frustrating tries cycling through the options to get to the one to update. The light does not evenly light my aquarium. For my 5 gallon tank, the light doesn't extend across the entire width of the tank leaving the edges darker than the center. Overall, I like this light. It functions reasonably well for a budget light. Once it is set up and adjusted it works well without and additional interaction from me. My plants are growing well and the aquarium looks great. ... show more

Yes, programing can be tedious. Take your time, be patient with the directions and yourself. If you choose mode 53 (DIY), make sure you turn OFF the other two modes. Being able to ramp up and down the intensity (& color) on a schedule is a feature i've wanted for years. I went for a gentle warm white fade up in the morning, then a couple of hours a bright white mid-day, and a progressively more red shift as the fadeout works into the evening, finishing the cycle with a couple of hours of 10% blue-only before going off completely just before midnight. The quantity & quality of light is truly amazing for fresh water. I haven't had a salt tank in years, I can't really speak to its blue output being appropriate to make a salt tank have that gorgeous blue/uv pop!. This IS a wonderfully flexible fixture for the cost. We shall see how well its holds up longterm. The only two 'Cons' I see so far, the shortest of hiccup in the power will clear the clock setting, it holds the programing, but not the time. Makes me ponder putting a very small computer style UPs on the aquarium. Lastly, the brackets holding the light over the tank make me a tiny bit uneasy, if younger children interact with tank, or if you live in an earthquake prone area, in just my opinion, its possible the fixture could end up falling into the tank. Perhaps its not meant to be used on an open-top tank, that said, I may put a piece of plate glass under the light. Both of these topics are mentioned in the instructions. In short, for the money, its such an amazing light! ..even for uses beyond an aquarium. I am very pleased with the purchase. ... show more

I’ve been using this light for a few months now. It works great for my shrimp tank and has helped my live plants. It was a little low for my water lettuce, so I printed two different risers for. One, someone did an excellent job of adding a holder for the display. The expandable arm mounts are about my only issue. Little bent and makes it wobble on mine. I didn’t learn they sell arms that will raise it till after, which isn’t a problem for me being able to print some risers. Learning how to navigate the screen and setting up your own dimmer/timer options is definitely a learning curve. Tons of YT videos on how to do so. You have to do it if you unplug it or if you loose power. Which I’ve had happen a few times and have to rewatch videos every time because I forget how to do it 🤣 Not sure if the upgraded model with the phone app makes it any easier, but when the day comes that this light might fail me, I’ll go that route and see. Overall I’m pretty impressed with it and my other Hygger products! Besides the white leds, my other favorite color is the light and dark blue. ... show more

Bought this light based on previous reviews. So far I really like this light. Low profile and lightweight and easy to install on the aquarium. Very good lighting but can get almost too bright if you don’t program. The programming can be a little confusing. Turned to YouTube to figure it all out but currently working very good. I’ve had this light now for 30 days so things could change but for now I would recommend this light to anyone. ... show more

Excellent light for this price. The light is shorter than description on the picture. 14w light is 10.8inches not 11.8inches Fits well for my 5gallon tank. It’s good for 5gallon and smaller tank. Get higher wattage led if you have bigger tank.
