  • Super Bright, Automatic ease in/out of light.
Size: 14W (for 12-18 inch tank)
I bought a random tank with cool blue led lights, glowing gravel, and with neon plastic plants. Only thing is, the fish freaked out with blue light - not to mention the shock of the light being super bright when it turned on. When I removed the old tank leds, it read, "Danger: Do Not Look at Lights When On." It was pretty bright. So this is very simple to use, and eases into brightness settings, which is AWESOME. It's kinda clunky, but I got it after playing around for 10 minutes. Before I go into the how to, know that it is indeed waterproof, super bright, and brightness can be adjusted; I'm still playing with between 50-80%. The fade in/out happens during time periods you specify. There are 3 modes. Think of them like this. Sunrise to a few hours before sunset (51), Sun has already started to Set to night (52), and full custom (53). Fortunately I only needed 2 modes. Whilst you can set modes 51 and 52 to overlap, it's causes mode 52 to kinda not work right. For me, I needed to use two modes. Some people may just need one, depending on where the tank is located. I need mode 51, as turning on the lights in the house caused the fish to freak out in the morning. I needed mode 52 because the room where the tank is located has blackout curtains, which will block the natural light if left closed. For me, I have mode 51 go from 6am to 3pm. What happens is, the white lights go from 0 to 70% from 6 to 615. Then stay at 70% till about 245, then from 245 to 3pm white light goes off. Mode 52 starts at 4pm and goes to 9pm. Red/Orange lights brighten from 4 to 415, then start to dim at 845, with off by 9pm. Mode 51: Day Time. This is your basic "white" light settings. Think Sunrise to a few hours before sunset - the sun is still up. 4 Options. 1) On/Off ( as in used or not used ). 2) On Time. 3) Off Time. 4) Brightness. Cool thing: I set the on time to 12:00 and off time to 12:03 with brightness set to 100%. From 12:00 to 12:02 it went from 0 to 100% brightness, and from 12:02 to 12:03 it went from 100% brightness back to Zero. It seems to take 10-15 minutes to go from Zero to the brightness level you selected; a gradual wake up. Naturally, if you set the on and off time to less than 10 minutes, it turns on at 00, peaks in the middle, and goes off by your end time. It will go from Your Selected Brightness level, down to 0/off in the last 10-15 minutes. Mode 52: This is for dusk colors. Same 4 options as mode 51. The difference is the brightness. Here you can set Red, Green, and Blue (RGB) colors, only up to 50% brightness. There are options for R + G, G + B, Just G, etc. From testing my fish do not like this blue either, even at 25%. My fish were okay with green/yellow, but ultimately I settled on just Red, as the fishies were cool with it. Actually setting it. You Tap the "M" button to cycle through 51, 52, 53, back to clock. When you're at 51-53, you can long press the "M" and that option will start to blink. Use the up/down arrows to change options, Tap "m" to move to the next option. Upon reaching the last part of the option, you're basically back at tapping "m" sequence. Overall I would give this 4.75 stars and not 5. The missing quarter star is for the 51, 52, 53. It could read, Day, Nite, & Cust. However, I only plan on setting this once, and plan on having this thing go for years between settings. It's not enough to remove a full star. ... show more

  • Light works, but timer doesn’t.
Size: 18W (for 18-24 inch tank)
Bought this light for my 20 gallon tank. It’s a decent light for the price, and I don’t have zny complaints on that part. But the timer is unusable. It worked the very first time, which I set to a short period for new/acclimating plants. It is impossible to change the start/end times now - following the instructions just causes it to cycle through modes without allowing any changes. It’s not a total dealbreaker, but the timer function was a big selling point to me and I don’t know if I’d buy this model again. ... show more

  • KEEP YOUR MANUAL ON HAND FOR THIS ONE
Size: 14W (for 12-18 inch tank)
The programming for this light can be somewhat difficult to setup at first, but once done, it's set and forget. If you are planning on using the DIY mode for this light (and I think most who are buying this light are) then here's a pro tip: Double check that you disable both the standard daylight and moonlight cycles prior to setting up DIY mode. This is not mentioned anywhere in the manual as far as I can tell, but not disabling them will cause the light to ignore your DIY mode settings after the first cycle of the schedule. This light has the best value for money over any of the other aquarium lights you will find on Amazon. I just wish the programming was a little bit better Pros: Full spectrum lighting The smaller models are very bright on nano tanks [For larger tanks (55+) you might need two] DIY mode allows custom brightness settings across a set schedule and custom 'moonlight' colors Cons: Unintuitive programming ... show more

  • Great light for the price
Size: 42W (for 48-54 inch tank)
Great light for my fresh water tank. I have live plants and all are doing well. It is timed so it helps me because I would forget to turn on or off the light. The reason I only gave it 4 stars is because programming the timer is a bit confusing. That could be just me....LOL

  • Great light, great price.
Size: 18W (for 18-24 inch tank)
This is the second of these that I have ordered, and both have been great so far. They are super bright and really brings out the colors of the fish in the tank, and works great for the plants I have. My only gripe with the product itself is that the timer is a little confusing to use but once it is set you are fun, unless the power goes out. On the second light I ordered I ended up with a used light instead of the new one that I ordered but amazon was quick to help with this, but just be sure to check your light and packaging when you get it to make sure you are getting a new one. ... show more

  • Love The Timer Functions
Size: 18W (for 18-24 inch tank)
The timing functions work so well and with our axolotl, being able to make the light a dark purple or blue makes him feel much safer coming out if we need to keep the light on.

  • Bright light with color and brightness options
Size: 22W (for 24-30 inch tank)
This is a great adjustable aquarium light. You can adjust the length based on the size you buy so it can fit multiple sized aquariums. It does have an option to dim the brightness and or change the color however trying to navigate and get it all set up can take a little time the first attempt. Once you get the hang of it it's rather easy and you can set it on a timer which is nice. I usually don't run it at full brightness and I have it set to Blue light at the end of the day. I wasn't familiar with the brand before I bought it but it's words perfect for my 29 gallon aquarium. ... show more

  • Love this light!
Size: 22W (for 24-30 inch tank)
Best thing about this is that it will cycle from off to on and an interim moonlight without having to fuss with it everyday. Not too difficult to figure out the settings. ( I just handed it over to my teenage son, lol. Took 5 min) you can interrupt the cycle manually if you need to, and it will pick up the normal timed cycle the following day. Perfect. Brightness is fantastic for my planted aquarium. ... show more
