I had a much cheaper version of this years ago and it was a stress reliever for me. This version is much better, I was expecting cheap inflatable balls but was impressed with the quality of these and the hoop. I have 2 kids and they enjoy it as much as I do. The hooks are solid and attach easily to a door and the digital scoreboard is accurate and a fun addition to the platform. I have three boys ages 8-15. They love having this in the house. Southern winters are wet, and they find themselves indoors a little more than usual lately. This Hyes mini basketball hoop has provided hours of indoor entertainment for all three. The directions were clear, assembly was easy, and once assembled the unit has great strength even against teens. My boys had been asking for one of these for months ever since they visited a friend’s house that had one. My wife and I were quick to take them up on their request as this, although still an indoor activity, will keep them off screens for just a little longer each day they play with it. Pros: Fairly clear instructions, solid materials Good size for bedroom play. Not so small that making a shot is difficult, but not so large that making those shots comes with ease. Perfect size for a challenge at any age. Collapsible and flexible rim hinge. If your 150 lb. kid mini-dunks on his little brothers, this thing will take it as the backboard to rim connection has a spring hinge. It will be loud though. More on that in a sec. That same rim hinge also allows the rim to be collapsed upward out of the way, so your door can be closed after game play and the door closed against it. Cons: The timer and volume on the built in game with digital announcements is loud with no adjustability. The kids even find it annoying. Thankfully it is on a switch that is easily left off. If hung on a hollow-core door (most homes have hollow-core interior doors), game play will be quite loud. The unit comes with foam back pads to helps silence vibrations against the door, but any pumps to the rim by anything will reverberate through your door. Its loud, and we know immediately when the kids start playng. Having said that, if your interior doors are solid, I doubt you will have any noise issues. The hang bars that hook over the top of the door are quite thin. However the unit’s hooks still catch on the door frame when the door closes and cause a loud noise. I could remove the door and shave a quarter inch off to allow the extra clearance, but I usually just remove the hoop from the door at night when the kids go to bed, then put it back in in the morning. The most disheartening thing was the included ball had a bad leak. We keep rubber patch kits around, but the little basketball is stippled and could not be patched. It went into the trash the same day it arrived, and the kids started using a nerf ball of similar size to play. Problem is, the nerf ball has more mass than the included inflatable ball, and probably contributes to the vibration noise. Good size, robust loud fun. I cant really ding this too bad for the noise. That just is what it is if you have hollow-core doors. Hang this on a solid core door, and yo won’t have the same issue. But bad on the company for not including a better ball to play with or tweaking the timed electronic games to be a little less annoying to the ear. ... show more

This is PERFECT for your little boys or girls of at least 3 years old and older!! Honestly, I am going to say ANY AGE at least 3 ans over.!!! This is a "Small" basketball hoop and attached counter. And OH MY GOODNESS!!! I opened it expecting a little cardboard set, and what I was met with is an amazing little miniature board that keeps count!!! I can definitely see this in an office setting. Not gonna lie, I'd set one up in a breakroom! So I HIGHLY suggest this for ANYONE! Little kids to Full grown adults!! Males and females alike! Basketball is a universal, and fun past time. This promotes health and exorcise!! Even in a small space such s an office or breakroom! This is a great toy to get for your little kid or kids to promote keeping a healthy amount of movement when stuck inside due to weather or even some health reasons. My 16 & 17 year old are always using balled up sockets and my laundry baskets as a basketball hoop. When I saw this, I couldn't wait for it to arrive. They are absolutely in love with it and this mini hoop is very well made! It's thick and sturdy and the hoop is a thick metal. I was expecting tiny little balls, but these are nice hand sized balls that you can actually bounce and you get 2 of them! The scoreboard is a nice touch and keep game play exciting. ... show more

Got this for my 8 and 10 year old to play in the house and they have been having a blast with it! The basket itself is really good quality and looks like it should last a long time. It fits on the closet door perfectly and has some sticky pads that go on all four corners of the backboard to protect the door. It also comes with 3 balls that you have to inflate before using. It comes with an air pump and needle. I'm not sure how long the pump will last as it seems pretty cheap, but it aired up the balls fine and it's been 2 weeks and the balls have held their air just fine, so we haven't had to use the pump again. The goal also has a battery option that includes an LED scoreboard and an announcer and crowd. It's pretty loud and nothing too exciting, so my kids have only used that option once.
