  • attractive, natural, sturdy, but varying diameter
I bought these for use in a few small projects. One of which is for stabilizing some light garden fencing. I used step in poles to anchor, then added a few of these in between to make it taut. I have sandy soil, so my ground gives easily to these being plunged into the dirt. However, in spots where they hit a hard spot, I had a couple split. It didn't render them useless, just weak. So if you have hard ground to get through, you will need to make a starter hole. I also used them to help hold up a sheet of wood lattice. I have a spot with a table and hanging baskets that I made a little cozier by setting up a piece of lattice. I had used bright orange stringer stakes in previous season, but wanted something more natural to go with look of the lattice. I made starter holes, then stuck these in. I propped lattice against the bamboo stakes and used twine to tie them on. Where possible, I wove the bamboo through the lattice holes, if only once at the bottom for added stability. I spaced maybe 10 stakes spread out to cover a six foot length of lattice. At 4 feet high, the stakes are probably about 10 inches into the ground. We get some wind through the area I placed my lattice, but it has held up so far with these stakes. I don't have my garden going yet, but I plan to also use a few bamboo stakes in some container plants for added stability. The stakes are attractive, and I am trying to think up some more creative uses for them, as I have several left over. I found the stakes have different diameter on one end from the other- some being as thick as a pen (sharpee, or a pinky finger), some as skinny as a mechanical pencil. Didn't impact my purpose, but thought I would mention it. ... show more

  • Doing the job
Doing exactly what they're supposed to do so far. We'll see how well they hold up for the season as far as durability goes.

  • These are GREAT!!
I am SO GLAD I bought these! Originally bought them to stake my tomato plants but now the options are limitless. I'm going to make a trellis for blackberries/strawberries among something for my clematis to climb. Yes some of them are skinnier and they aren't perfect but they're BAMBOO people. If you want straight sticks you'll need to go pay a fortune for pieces of wood at your local lowes or garden center etc. I love the look of them not being "perfect ". Very sturdy and easily went into the ground after 3 days of over 100 degree Temps. I would highly recommend!! And I found no bugs at all as someone else mentioned in other comments. I will be purchasing more of these in longer length. Trying to "permaculture " my in town yard. Would love a free sample hint hint lol!! Also the price was excellent in my opinion. ... show more

  • Good sturdy stakes!
I use these as stakes for the net trellis for my veggie garden. I needed something strong. I live in an area that needs to sustain 40-60mph winds and gusts sometimes on a daily basis. Using any old stake wasn’t going to cut it so I needed something strong without spending hundreds of dollars on fancy metal stakes. It needed to be strong enough that it could hold up cucumbers and beans and such, in strong winds and these do the trick. They aren’t pointed at the bottom so they don’t go into the ground easily so I would recommend pre-poking holes into the ground to get them to go in but other than that, they work SO WELL!!! And they will last for quite some time so I’m happy with them! You get a lot for your money too so what’s not to love? ... show more

  • It is pretty good stake (last batch from 2021) But it is not good when I repurchase (2022)
I bought this in early 2021 for my veggie planting. The shipping was fast; it was just 1 or 2 days and I still remember the policy is free return which I had done many other times easily without any fee charge. Talk about the quality, I would say the stake was randomly pick. So, it's mean I did have 2-3 over 25 stakes that was not really sturdy. 1 side is smaller than the other. But it was only 2-3 of them and the rest was super strong to use and I still have it in my garden now. Plan to buy another pack but when I see the reviews I'm so surprise that people got bad experience on the product. I may try to buy it again to check if the experience is different. Will update later. Update: -Probably because it is the natural product so that the quality is not the same. But Really the difference between the 2 orders is so clearly. This batch I cannot say it bad but it is not good at all compare to the batch before. It is small now for most of the stake and none of them are straight. So I deducted 1 more star from the review. Will not recommend at this time. ... show more

  • Sturdy
The bamboo worked well in supporting plants with heavy fruit and for various creeping vine plants. I would recommend these for purchase however, make sure that you get the right size for what you need.
