Back story I am 6'1" and I'm roughly 165lb and I have both the Casper and big besty 6'8" CASPER: this board is very easy to paddle and balance on however it is not like a wavestorm in terms of sinkability, meaning that I can still engage the rails and make swooping turns with ease I have taken this board out in small mushy 1-2ft waves and 9-10ft waves it handles beautifully in both (it has also been in multiple Wipeouts in both of those wave size senarios and has not taken any damage) 5'5" BIG BESTY: this mushy wave king is truly my favorite board in the quiver. I usually ride this in a quad fin configuration (large fins in front medium fin on the rear) it never fails to find the sweet point on a wave face with its rounded nose and tail it is easy to paddle. with the deep channels and concave along the bottom it funnels water like a dream. I have taken this board out in the same size waves as the Casper and it is very flickable with the rounded almost skateboard shape it is fairly similar to my carver surfskate. ... show more

I purchased the 6' board. The soft top of this board is amazing. It is seamlessly integrated into the fiberglass and provides awesome foot grip without wax. This is not a beginners board as it does not ride high like a foam board and requires intermediate+ skills to catch a shoulder. It is as fast as any of the traditional 6' fiberglass boards I have had in the past. Have not been out in large waves yet, but it works great for 2-4 foot swells. Really like this board. Surfs anything from OH to 3 foot and is easy into waves. Only issue is it's hard to surf this without a wetsuit as it really chafs the inner thighs in summer. Lots of float and I can even duck dive this. Glass bottom and real fin boxes mean you can swap out the fins they give you with more high performance ones. Highly recommend this board. ... show more

Seems like a Good board for 3-5 foot waves. Unfortunately I will never know. I took it out on 1-2feet. 30 minutes in, I can really feel it rubbing on my inner legs. See picture after surf and 24 hours later. The idea of no wax is good , but you will have to wear a full wetsuits to make it work. Any skin contact and it misery. Not ideal for spring, summer. This thing is great took a little getting used to but after a week I am loving this board, great on the small messy east coast waves. Great looking board. Light weight and buoyant. I’ve only been out a few times. I am an intermediate surfer weighing 180 pounds. Definitely not a beginner board unless you weigh 100 pounds. Seems like quality. Very impressed so far.
