Wonderful rain coat. Your dog will look very dapper. However there are so many sizes, and your dog may fall into various different styles. After having to return 2 (one too big, one too small) , my tip to everyone, when in doubt about sizing, is go with the back length. The others are more adjustable. Ok, so its not perfect, but that's to be expected because of the style. Her lower chest and under belly still get a bit wet, but... easy to put on; only coat that covers her neck (she walks with her head down, sniffing the ground, and she had a long neck and pointy ears - hoods are useless for her); covers her butt/flanks and the leg straps don't 'ride up' (most coats, i don't even use those because of this issue); adjusts for her curly tail (think: husky-like); fits her (she has a wide, deep chest but is otherwise slender); fits over her jk9 harness, or not - adjust just the one strap; fits over underlayers, thick or thin or none - adust just the one strap; keeps her body dry (although we haven't tried a really torrential downpour or bomb cyclone yet, just regular rain and 15-30 mph wind); only lists to the side a very little bit; stays covering her flanks even with strong wind at the back, if the back leg straps are on (yes, in 15-30 mph wind); and she can pee and poop in it, even with back leg straps on! (Although, if windy, I make sure the flaps are moved to the side because they hang low on her). I got a 22". Probably could have fit the size down, but I like the roomyness. She is a taiwanese dog, 50# (yes, very big for that landrace), 21" length, 28" chest, 18" neck at collar, 22" neck above the shoulder blades, height about a border collie size. I usually have to go a size up to fit her deep, wide chest (across the front), and then i still fasten the front loose and the belly is usually way too big. Love this coat - especially the neck! 😁 Mila also likes this coat - at least, she will go out in the rain with it on and will do a 2.5 to 3 mile walk 😁. I definitely recommend it. ... show more

Design-wise, I think the rain jacket is nice. I live in a place that's rainy for most of the year, so having a raincoat for my dog is necessary. Some points: -She also doesn't have a very thick coat and is kind of naked on her underside, so I really like the way that the coat covers her chest and belly. -However, it did not keep her belly completely dry and actually got soaked through on that part of the jacket. Given that it's supposedly rated for 10k mm and it wasn't at its wettest for the season, I was a little disappointed. The rest of her body that was covered, however, remained dry. -I like the adjustability of the jacket and the reflective accents are really visible at night (there are side spots that are reflective as opposed to just the piping of the jacket). -The area where the harness-connection-hole is isn't the most effective, as the hole can get lifted open when the leash is directly above your dog. -The way the buckle is tightened or loosened is a little... unconventional? Because of where the excess belt is, it either hangs loosely off of the body or you have to fold it underneath, which creates a "bump" that can rub up against your dog's skin/possibly be an irritation point for your dog. -The elastics that hold the flanks of the coat to your dog's hind legs are much too loose if you have a dog on the smaller end of the spectrum of the respective size that you buy. I had to alter them so that my dog wouldn't get pee on them. I fortunately got mine on a discount, so I think it was worth what I paid, but I wouldn't pay full price for this. It looks nicer but performs about as good as the rain jacket I spent $15 for which my dog actually prefers, so take from that what you will. I'll probably come back and update this once I have used this more to comment on durability. ... show more

Yes this is pricey for a dogs raincoat! But after wasting money an cheaper ones that either didn’t fit or didn’t function properly or of poor quality I decided to take a Chance. It was worth every penny and you truly get what you pay for. First of all the quality of the fabric and the construction is top notch. The fit is EXACTLY as expected after following the manufacturers sizing instructions. Don’t blame them if it doesn’t fit! It’s likely because you didn’t FULLY read their advice and instructions. The neck shroud and hind quarters coverage is my favorite part. Although this particular style does not provide for full belly coverage (basically just a securing strap), my dog is very tall and his belly never gets wet. Keep this in mind if purchasing. Also this is a lightweight rain jacket and not insulated for cold weather. It can used over other layers if need be. But I purchased it more for summer rain storms. It will protect against strong driven winds for sure. Good luck ... show more
