  • Easy to use
Self explanatory, wrap around tree, slide up knot and good to go. Solid rope, durable clip! Packaged nicely. Saved the package to store at the end of season! Will be buying more.

  • Great Product

Shipped fast, works well, worth it for the lock-on. The material is excellent. Comes with one locking carabiner. If you already have a second carabiner with a quick lock you’re absolutely in business.

  • Best companion to the safety harness
Style Name: Single
Best companion to the safety harness! Been using for a year now and can't believe I didn't have one sooner! Quick and easy to attach and long enough for most any size tree. Mine initially showed up WITHOUT the carabiner, but I contacted HSS and they quickly shipped me one. Great customer service experience! Most all the negative reviews are folks that don't understand what this rope is for. It is solely for replacement of the usual tree strap that comes with your harness. I will say that the Amazon description is misleading and mentions ascent and descent, but that is meant to correlate with a climbing tree stand where you would use this to always be connected to the tree while going up or down in your climber stand. This rope is NOT a lifeline style rope that you attach to for ascent and descent of a ladder or hang-on type of tree stand. For that, you will need the Hunter Safety System LIFELINE here: Hunter Safety System Reflective LIFELINE Systems (Single Pack) ... show more

These ropes are great! I have one for my tether and use one as a lineman’s belt!

  • Very convenient for use, could provide several more feet of rope length
Style Name: Single
Whether you make your own or purchase this one, I would definitely recommend purchasing one of these setups to anyone that tree stand hunts. Once it's set in the tree it provides a safe, convenient, and reliable way to get up and down from your stand without risking a fall. There are two downsides to this product that I have found: 1. You still need to find a way to set up your tree stand and tree strap before you can use this safety rope. That's not a knock at all to this product or its design, but definitely something to consider. I personally use a linemans' rope and it works well for me. 2. The rope could come a bit longer. I only sit between 15-20 feet up in a tree, yet I found that the rope wasn't quite as long as I had hoped it would be. I have to climb up to the first step of my tree stand before I can hook myself to the line. This isn't a dangerous thing, rather an inconvenience. However, it would be worth either HSS providing a longer rope, or if you like your stand set very high in the tree, considering another option. All in all it is my opinion that this is worth the money you pay for it and a necessary addition to any tree stand hunter's system. Just be sure to consider your stand height when looking at this option. If you sit over 20 feet in the tree, you may want to look elsewhere. ... show more

  • Versatile, inexpensive, quality. Works three ways.
Style Name: Single
So this is about a 7 or 8 foot piece of somewhat stiff climbing rope with a loop tied in one end and a prusik knot with carabiner on the other, with a knit at the opposite end to keep the prusik from sliding off. If you know what you're doing, you can use this at least three different ways. First, use as intended for a tree safety strap and wrap it around the tree, stuff the prusik through the loop, and hook it to your harness while in the stand. It works OK for this, although the loop is really a little too big and lets it slide down the tree so it doesn't stay up and tight as I'd prefer. Second, use it as a life line for shorter stands. Hook it to an existing tree strap using the loop and slide the prusik up and down as you ascend or descend the tree. This won't work for anything more than ten feet off the ground, but they sell a more expensive system that's just for this use that has a longer rope. Finally, you can hook the loop through your line man's belt or waist harness throw the strap around the tree, and hook your prusik to the other side of your line man's belt and use the stiff strap as a lineman strap or climbing strap. Works fantastic for this as you can use the prusik to slide in or out from the tree and work however you're comfortable. You absolutely can not assemble this system for the price they are offering. If I was making it myself, I'd make the knot tighter so it would stay in the tree better, but for the price you can't beat its versatility. ... show more

  • Works as intended
Style Name: Single
I use this with my climber, which is a stand you can face the tree. So being able to adjust the length of my tether helps. I like this better then using a buckled strap. Easy to get on the tree and adjust as you climb. I would recommend.
