  • Great price point, quality visibility, can’t beat the value for the $$
Style: 621CG-G
UPDATE (12/27/2018) - the level works well for most practical uses, but became difficult to see in bright sun when more than 5-10 feet away. In normal daylight it worked well up to 20 feet. I will keep this one for sure because it’s easy to use and functions well. The batteries last quite a while also. BUT I will also invest in a more expensive and more powerful rotary laser for larger outdoor uses. BEGIN ORIGINAL REVIEW I am a brand new contractor with over 10 years of occasional personal handyman and home renovation experience. This is my first purchase of a laser level. I decided it was necessary after working with another contractor recently and seeing how a basic laser level greatly sped up the workflow. After using a red laser level and struggling to visualize it with the sun shining through the window during and indoor project, I decided I would opt for the more expensive green laser no matter the cost. Unfortunately, the ones that seemed to fit the bill ranged from $400-$700. Immediately became less interested. So, I started doing research. I spent several hours researching the different brands, reviews, and why people like or dislike different features of different models. I quickly came to the realization that I did not need a super large rotary laser, but that having a 360° Lazer would be very beneficial for my primary work flow. I do mostly residential work like renovating rooms, building moderate sized too small additions, building decks, etc. I narrowed it down to Wanting a green line laser with a 360° function. I felt that this would suffice for my needs. So far, I am correct. I have used it while Finishing a basement and it has been worth it’s weight in gold.… Especially considering the very reasonable price point. It is a timesaver when installing new walls, framing windows, Finishing a basement and it has been worth it’s weight in gold.… Especially considering the very reasonable price point. It is a timesaver when installing new walls, framing windows,Marking outlet placements, and making me look like more of a professional. I am quickly seeing the need for a tripod so I ordered the Bosch elevator tripod. For the tripod price range of $100-$150 I felt deep bosh Wood give me the basic needs of being able to go up to at least 9 feet for setting the ledger board of a second story deck, which is something I’m doing this week. So far the line is SUPER bright in the basement work that I’m doing and I have no problem with visibility. If I end up having problems outdoors later this week I will update this. If this has not been updated within one week then assume that it is good to go for basic outdoor residential use. I did notice that this one does not seem quite as durable as the $500 Dewalt version that is similar, but I will just keep it in the case. I might even put it in a hard case because the case that comes with it, while Well cushioned, is fabric and not durable for a job site. For now it gets babied. All in all, this specific Lazer beat out all of my comparisons with even the same brand with different bottles, not to mention all of the other big name brands (at this price point). It’s not super professional, but most people don’t know that and you can’t tell it from the job it does. ... show more

  • Great Laser Level, Well Worth the money, a Real Tool!
I am all about quality tools. And I spent many years in the construction trades. This Huepar laser lever is a really decent tool. It's right up there with the DeWalt and Bosch. This level is accurate and the green line is well defined. It has a sturdy rugged feel to it. The brass inserts on the bottom for mounting are qaulity where it counts. I mounted this on a camera tripod and then directly onto a surveyor's tripod without a problem. It has three types of power options; 1. Rechargeable lithium battery pack, 2. Plug adapter directly in wall socket, 3. A adapter battery holder that holds 4 AA batteries. So you could even use rechargeable AA if you like. The lithium is the longer use time, so I keep the alternative batteries for emergency. A little bonus is that you can recharge the lighium battery while it remains in the laser or charge it with the included external charger. The laser does work while it's behind charged as well. The laser has battery charge indicater lights. Operation is very simple. I didn't need to read the instruction booklet. The included magnetic mounting base is very strong. It can easily hold the weight of the laser to the side of a fridge or metal stud.. I like this 3 plane 360 laser because it's level and plum for working on walls, ceilings. And floors. One laser, one tripod. The green is so much better than the red. I did try it outside in full sunlight. At 30ft I was able to see it faintly on the side of the house, but as with all lasers it's really not practical unless you purchase a laser detector if working outside on fences, gutters, etc. This laser does have pulse mode, so you can purchase the Huepar laser detector as well. The Huepar laser detector will be my next purchase. So I'll be sure to do a review on it. I'm really glad I took the chance and bought this Huepar, hope this review helps others. ... show more

  • If Using Outside Get the Laser Detector
Style: 621CG-G
I have a red beam laser I purchased for indoor use and was hopeful this green laser would be visible further away outside. I was frustrated when I took the red beam outside for a small fence project and couldn't see the beam a six feet away in non direct sunlight. The green light is more visible then red and easier to see indoors. Moving outside on an overcast cloudy day under a patio cover I can only see the beam to about 10 feet, if the sun were out forget it. Using the included green target plate it extended range to about 18 feet. I was hopeful it would go 15 feet without anything on a cloudy day but that is not the case. Either way I found it only slightly more visible outside than my other red beam laser. With that I went and purchased their laser detector. I walked out 100 feet and had no problem getting the signal. For the all-in-one options I feel the price is reasonable although with the laser detector it brings price to around $200. The unit is well built and the carrying case is well designed and protective. It would be nice if the carrying case had a slot for the laser detector. I have a stockpile of rechargeable AA batteries (this unit takes 4 and are included (alkaline) with purchase) so I'm not worried about battery life, what would be a pain is to have to change out in the middle of a job. The red laser I have lasts a very long time on a charge and if I think I will be a while on the job I will likely use it instead. Laser detector runs on one 9V battery which was included, I would have preferred AA here too. It seems there always some trade-offs. ... show more
