  • I love this thing
I had an insteon hub and have had numerous problems with my account and devices since the bankrupcy and new ownership, so I decided to cut my losses and switch. This tiny little hub works fantastic and supports zwave, zigbee and matter. I was even able to pair my Phillips hue bulbs to it. adding device was easy and worked flawlessly for zigbee and zwave. the only thing I havent liked is the programming of the dashboards it had a little bit of a learning curve but once I got used to it , its fine. its also kind of wierd that there are settings located in multiple places some in the apps area and some actually in the devices or dashboard application itself. they could probably use a bit of a reorg on how you access different setting but after playing around for an hour I got used to where certain settings were located. the scheduling and Alex integrations have been working great for the past week. This thing is ridiculously small (way smaller than a raspberry Pi) and is packed with features. its in my hall coat closet and easily communicates with a zigbee switch in my garage 30' away. The signal is going thru 3 walls and 2 doors with no problem. I have 5 Zwave switches and no comm issues with them either even thought its buried in the back of a closet. haven't done any complex programming yet but so far I give it a 8 or 9 out of 10 ... show more

  • Upgrade over C7
Upgraded my 2yr old C7 to the C8 pro and, hours in, this review is about first impressions. My C7 was fine, nothing wrong but there were issues that are likely more of a Zwave/hub performance/home assistance integration problem that I just lived with regarding having to sometimes tell the assistant two or three times to do something OR a 5 second lag between command and action. With young kids I’m used to it, so it’s not a deal breaker! Backstory, I came from an Insteon environment which was rock solid in terms of performance and response, however limited in device options. That said, I’m always comparing Zwave/Hubitat to Insteon. Out of the box the setup was easy. The hub came on the latest firmware so it was off to cloud backup/restore land. That process was flawless. Instructions provided by hubitat were exact. The first thing I noted between the C7 and C8 via browser was just a snappier UI. Things just seemed a bit quicker. After migration, in testing device functionality, via the assistant (Amazon) it seems accurate so far and instant. I still get, one time so far, the “X device isn’t responding” despite it completing the action. What I will update this review with, though I expect it to work, is the SI labs z7 stick and tools for removing ghosts, etc. Additionally, the hub mesh after migration is more hub/spoke. I suspect this will change over the coming days. Overall, if you have the funds and want to upgrade do so. Else, stay put if on C7 if all is working well. ... show more

  • Not zwave compatible, not pre existing anyway.
Choice was between buying this and more expensive smart plugs to replace a bunch of zwave plugs. Turns out this is not worth the money, not zwave compatible with anything but the newest. Save the trouble and buy something that works.

  • Great asset for your Smart Home
I do like the Hubitat Hub over the Samsung Smartthing Hub. The Samsung is easier to use and setup, but the Hubitat is more flexible and reliable. Once you get the hang of it, it's becomes second nature to try more things you can do over the Samsung.

  • Great hub for true and local home automation!
If you’re looking for a hub that does home automation, and does it locally, this is it! With this latest iteration of their hub, Hubitat is adding more memory and processing power to an already great hub! I purchased the Hubitat Elevation C-8 Pro hub to upgrade from a previous generations (C-7). The transition was quick and seamless. I love how the Hubitat hubs support a panoply of local home automation devices through various protocols, including Z-Wave, Zigbee and now Matter! I also really love how the Hubitat community is there to help each other by creating new integrations and providing quick support. ... show more
