3-line trainer kite means you get a safety de-power system attached to your wrist. Something goes wrong? Just let go of the bar....like a real full size kite. The 250 is the perfect size, not too much power that its intimidating, but not so small you can't power dive it and simulate a water start. Just used this locally in 20mph winds and it was never "too much". I have the 350 as well, but its often way too powerful for beginners.
