  • What a brilliant book
I am truly appreciating this book for its clarity and sense. It is well written, has important truths in accessible writings, and helps me delve into my own racist beliefs. Great stuff.

  • phenomenal and informative read
Two of the most powerful voices today team up to show not only the youth, but adults how to dismantle harmful teachings and work to get rid of racism. Written as letters to their younger selves, both give powerful tools and tips that is easily broken down and not overwhelming. It is a great tool and a informative guide. I received a copy of the book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving an honest review of my own thoughts and opinions. ... show more

  • Needs to be more digestible for kids
I really wanted to love this book. I've bought and read Dr. Kendi's 'How to Be an Antiracist' and 'Stamped From the Beginning (thought they were excellent). I got this thinking that I'd read it out loud after dinner with husband and kids (7th & 8th grade) and have discussions. That flopped terribly. They had a hard time tracking and staying engaged due to vocabulary (too many big words foe all of them, including the husband). I found myself skipping around to find shirt conversation starters I could read for us to discuss. Unfortunately I shelved it and looking for a replacement. ... show more

  • Have tried 3 times but can’t get into it
Wanted to read before I give to granddaughter. Can’t get into the groove, nothing catches my attention ☹️in first 25 pages.

  • Hilarious
This has to be one of the most absurd books ever written. A racist instructing people how to not be racist is preposterous!

  • Not great.
I do not like most things by 'Kendi,' but do love 'Nic Stone.' I no longer do... I am done with her. How about offering useful info and not just ranting?
