    • A lot of the same information as in Traction, etc. but still useful.
Like many of the other books related to the Entreprenuerial Operating System (EOS), it contains a lot of the same information. So if you have read Traction, Rocket Fuel, etc. you will find a lot is repeated. That said, as a new integrator in a small company that has been implimenting the EOS system over the last few years, I'm a big fan of the EOS model and think a few more dollars for another book to help round out your EOS tool set is well worth it.     • Succinct, practical, and proven.
I've read Traction, and am well into the process of implementing it with our leadership team. Unfortunately, I've since experienced meaningful conflict with three of my five direct reports. As a result of this book, I have created an Excel workbook with specific action items I will employ to become a great boss. With two of these three, I'm confident these actions will lead to significant realignment and organizational improvements. Time will tell for the other leader, but I am at peace with the plan drawn from this book, and comfortable that the organization and people will be better for the effort. ... show more

If you're in any type of a leader role in a business and using the EOS model or looking for new tools to communicate more effectively and really track goals as a team this is a great tool. First two chapters were a harsh reality check and really made me question myself but I feel confident with the resources given in this book to help me advance as a better leader in the future. ... show more

    • Practical tools and tips for leaders and managers
I liked the simplicity of the message- this was a quick read. As with Wickman’s other books about the EOS- (Traction and Get a Grip), there are useful forms included and helpful lists and exercises to lead and manage others. This book will be most useful for entrepreneurs who want to be great leaders and managers of people in their organizations, and likely don’t have HR professionals on staff to advise them. The only reason I didn’t rank this a 5 is that I am a tough rater, and this didn’t include any new information for me- it covers the basics, so is a good refresher for some who already know these principles. ... show more

I especially liked ... - Leadership and Management assessments and deep dives in how to be a better leader and manager - Quarterly conversations - I had gotten away from this (due to "time constraints"). I intend on resuming this practice immediately. - The four people issues -- puts each person in your organization into four distinct quadrants and breaks down how to manage and work with each one.
