Really great play set that is it’s own box, and at a really good price. The tracks are flexible and don’t break easily. One of the best parts is the launcher, which is really durable. It doesn’t use rubber bands to launch the car, it just uses one to pull the lever back into place after launch. This is much better than the bow-and-arrow type of launchers that Hot Wheels makes, because those break quickly due to all the stress and it’s hard to find replacements. It’s actually easy to change the track configuration. Hot wheels cars work well on it, but a lot of matchbox cars don’t (which is fine). I think every Hot Wheels car we have is compatible with the tracks themselves, and probably 30-40% of them are compatible enough to be launched and complete the 2 loops configuration. They have to have certain shapes/weights to work really well with the launcher, so you just have to try different cars to see which ones work. But that’s fun, too. ... show more

Now first off know you will need about 40ft (the standard sets come with 15ft or 40ft) of loose track to add to this set. As far as the design, the clamp works fine but finding an object to get a solid grip on might be challenging. You could arrange the blue part of the crate to allow for the clamp to attach but it is not the best option for stability and power (gravity). But for under $20 there is no other option offering a fair start starting line along with 4 car lanes. As far as the finish lines, there are better out there (as far as deciding a clear winner) but there are worse. But these finish lines are not best used for a short race (where the cars are neck and neck), but best used for an endurance race (where you have a very long track maybe 8 to 10 feet long or longer). The reason for this is because when it is a close finish, these finish lines spin and it is hard to know who won. In a long distance race it will separate the cars that can keep their power vs those that cannot and most likely there will be a clear winner and the finish lines simply act as a point of ending the race. I realize HW does not want to step on the toes of their top track (or tracks) so they do not like to put the best features in their more affordable lines but this is completely a decent option for specific types of races. ... show more

This is an awesome little track set. Most of the negative reviews come from the confusing instructions for assembly. I didn’t find it intuitive, and I’ve assembled lots of toys. The “smooth” open side of the track is what the cars drive on, not the side that looks like it has the visible “tracks” on it. You SLIDE the track in place until the little button pops into the hole and then it works perfectly. (Try it. It works.) I bought this as a gift to my two nieces. It comes with the full track, including a loop, and mine came with two hot wheels designed to use on the track. Everything assembled as it should, and so far it has withstood the somewhat rough play of two young children.

This track is a lot of fun for the money. Great value. Our 2 year old girl and 4 year old boy both play with this track system. It also will work for the hotwheels and monster jam monster trucks as well. The clamp funtion works pretty good when clamping to tables. Though the hook feature for chairbacks and such should be bigger as we havnt found anything small enough diameter to hook to. The case is also spacious enough to store additional sections of track and some cars as well. All in all its a great value. ... show more

This is a great basic hot wheels track set. lots of straight pieces and connectors and the box can be used to help stabilize the entire enterprise. Great to expand other sets or to create sweet stair tracks. Has same issues as other hot wheels tracks in that they can break easy and can be flimsy but not something specific to this set. Son's very happy with this set and takes it with him when visiting grandparents. The mechanism that allows you to attach it to chairs/tables is great and you can create different game setups using the parts that come with it. Very good value, very good replayability.

Bought as a Christmas gift for 4.5 year old. He hasn’t had any sets before and thought this would be a good place to start. It was a huge hit; he has enjoyed making the intended loops and after adding a couple extra sets of track for $2 a pack he’s had fun using his imagination to make new tracks.
