    • Fun monster truck
The Hot Wheels Tiger Shark Monster Truck is pretty fun to play with and more advanced than the monster trucks that were around when I was a kid. Along with going forward or reverse you can also do wheelies and pop ups where the front tire is the only one in the air. Because it is fairly big in size you'll want to stand back and use it areas where it won't run into anything, or if it does it's no big deal. While the monster truck definitely works better on a smooth carpet or concrete, I did test it out on grass and it worked pretty well. My grass was slightly long so the truck was a little bit slower to move but you can still have fun with it if a yard is your only option to use it. The shorter the grass and if you stay away from inclines, the easier the truck will move around. You will need two AA batteries for the remote control and a screwdriver to open up the section where you place the batteries. The truck comes with a USB cable but you will need to have a some type of charger to plug it into. ( I plugged mine into the one I use for my Kindle) You will want to move the button on the bottom of the truck to the charging part. A red light indicates it isn't charged yet while a green light indicates it is ready. The instructions state charging should take around 90 minutes and I believe ours was less than that. Now our truck started showing green within a few minutes of charging but then went back to red. It kept alternating every so often and I knew it couldn't be fully charged that quick. After an hour or so I checked on it again and because it stayed green for a few minutes I went ahead and unplugged it. That's really the only negative for me is not knowing for sure if there is an issue with the charging. ... show more

The tiger shark RC monster truck is a blast for our kids. Our 5-year-old had no trouble picking up the controller and zooming it around once charged out of the box. Our 3-year-old likes to make it dance by hitting the shoulder button and loves watching it zip around making circles on its back tires. I like the fact that the car has a rechargeable battery and a switch with 3 modes; on, off, and charging. It is vital that a rechargeable product has a charging light indicator as this one does. I am a little bit disappointed that the controller needs 2 AA batteries, but it is a small price to pay. The car is powerful and is able to drive over fairly tough obstacles. We put it on multiple surfaces and the wheels are well made and have deep grooves to give it good traction. My one negative observation is that it tends to be very jumpy and poppy when in use, so beware if smaller children are floor-level with it while it is moving, as it can hit them in the chin if not worse. The battery lasts for a great time, both kids played with it separately on and off in different conditions for over an hour and it still seemed like it had a strong charge. ... show more
