They got the job done - although as you might expect getting this many taps for this much money, they probably have a more limited lifetime. The overall look of construction seems to indicate a cheaper construction.

    • Sharp and dull
The 1/4, 3/8 as are the larger taps are good and quite sharp. The others are quite dull. The big ones are pretty good but intermediate (popular) are not good. I will regrind the larger taps and it should be a really good set. The 1/2” is a disaster, I’ll get out a diamond bit and see what i can do.

Heads up, the 3/4 tap in my set was unusable. Never should have made it past quality control. The other five taps are okay and look like they will work. I have contacted Horusdy but since they are an Australian company I don't really expect much. Update: Customer service got back to me the same day I contacted them and offered a replacement.     • Doesn’t cut sharp threads
I do like the case it comes in. The taps themselves cut threads that are flattened and not sharp. Ruined a fitting trying to get it thread in after chasing the threads a few times. Not just one tap but another tap had the same issue. One of my taps was a 3/4 and the fitting wouldn’t fit after tapping it. Found I had a 3/4 tap I forgot about and had sharp thread cutters on it. Chased the hole from the previous tap and it cut better and the fitting screwed right in. Don’t recommend this product. This is one of those you get what you pay for ... show more
