  • Excellent program
Every kid is different, but both of mine have responded so well to this program. We were using a different program for a long time and had to switch mid-year. I loved the old one and and my younger student did as well, but my older student really struggled. By the time she mastered one concept, she’d forget all the ones she learned before it. The mastery approach was not for her. In contrast, Horizons uses the spiral approach, which works so much better for her. It constantly reviews and reminds and practices, and even if she doesn’t excel immediately with a new concept she still gets the confidence boost of zooming through review sections of material she’s comfortable with. Horizons is an aggressive program, but its structure is just so easy to follow. My third and fourth grader are cruising along at or above grade level. ... show more

  • Good workbook
So glad i decided to get these workbooks. We had to dive right into homeschooling this year after I Public schools continue to “ fumble the ball” while trying to figure out elearning. But these books are so much more useful than the public schools. More work to do. Just amount of graphics to help but not take up the whole page. I like the review of what is learned every once in awhile to help refresh. Thanks so much!! ... show more

HUGE fan of Horizons Math. This is our 4th year and my daughter is already starting 4th grade math (she is third grade age). However, she loves math and wants to push ahead, so I encourage her to do so. We have used Horizons math from Kindergarten in our homeschooling. I love how the curriculum grows along with them making the pictures a little less, the print a little smaller and the answers more difficult as they continue. She has scored well above average on her yearly test scores, especially in math! Excellent product that requires very little teaching or time on the teachers behalf. ... show more

  • Great math books
This curriculum is challenging, but the worksheets have some color & occasional puzzles that my children like. DO GET THE TEACHER's MANUAL & FOLLOW IT -- otherwise, you'll miss out on some necessary drills.

We are a first year homeschooling family and really like Horizons. We tried online curriculum for my 4th grader and it just wasn't working for her. Not knocking it, it just wasn't her style :) We switched her to Horizons math and the melt downs are gone! The workbooks are full of colorful pictures that really seem to help her when learning new ideas. We love it! ... show more

  • Way too pricey!
They look like good learning tools, but not for the price. You can get something just as good for a lot less. Returned.

This was our first year using Horizons Math. I liked how the lessons were reviewed on a regular basis so that my daughter could retain the information and not forget it. We plan on using Horizons again in the fall.
