Description

Honest Amish Beard Balm is created from the finest organic ingredients available. We start with a proprietary blend of hair strengthening botanical infused in a base of Virgin Argan, Avocado, Almond, Virgin Pumpkin Seed, and Apricot Kernel Oils. It is then masterfully crafted with fruit and nut butters (Shea, Aloe, Cocoa, Kokum, to name a few), and hair enhancing essential oils. Subtle scents of Cedarwood, Anise (licorice), and Clove. We recommend that people with nut allergies avoid this product or test a small amount before application. Honest Amish Beard Balm will help soften, condition, dry splitting hairs, and nourish new growth. Our balm is also very conditioning for your skin and will stop the itching caused by new growth and wild rogue hairs. Due to the use of only natural ingredients in our beard balm, separation of the product may occur when exposed to fluctuations in temperature. The beard balm will continue to work as normal; it will just require a few extra seconds of manipulation when melting in your hands. However, to return it back to a smooth consistency it can be melted back down by placing the beard balm in a warm place (direct sun light, in car, heater vent, etc. Do not use open flames, microwaves, or stove tops) Once melted, secure the lid on your beard balm and shake it up, mixing up all the oils. Then allow to cool to room temperature or place in refrigerator for faster solidification. Beard Balm may liquefy in transit USE CAUTION WHEN OPENING. We use absolutely NO man made chemicals or preservatives and NO fake fragrances or colorants in any of our products. Packaged in a 100 percent recyclable tin. Made in The U.S.A. by hand for an honest wage. If you are not 100 percent satisfied with your purchase for any reason, please return it for a full refund.

  • Buy Honest Amish from Amazon
Buy your Honest Amish here at Amazon. The other big retailer is Walmart and I used to purchase it there. It always arrived with a granular texture and lumps. This is not the end of the world because it will melt down in your hands after awhile. I was tired of messing with it. I have now purchased it at Amazon several times and it arrives smooth the way it should be. This is my favorite beard balm and I have tried several brands. It moisturizes my beard and softens it the best. It offers enough control control as well. Scent is o.k. there are better but it is subtle and not offensive like some scents. ... show more

  • Always end up coming back to this
I got out of the military about 3 years ago and immediately started growing a beard. This was the first beard balm that I tried and I was super impressed, but I wanted to explore other options. Needless to say, here I am 3 years later always coming back to Honest Amish! You cannot beat this stuff. It's not overbearingly greasy or too oily and you only have to use a small amount. ... show more

  • Good product - exploitative name?
I think their product is good. I like the aluminum tub and the scent is decent. I like a little more scent - but that is preference. notes of vanilla and a little clove. Scent dissipates quickly. I am just left with questions about the name - they are from PA - but I don't think they are from an Amish community. Seems a little weird to take a name from a religious minority like that if it isn't part of your history. I reached out via email for clarification, but never heard anything. ... show more

  • A quality beard balm at a fair price
I decided to purchase Honest Amish Beard Balm based on previous reviews, and the ingredients. I purchased it at the same time as the Honest Amish Beard Oil. The product does everything as described, and keeps my thick beard in place. A little goes a long way. This is a balm and not a wax. This product does not provide a firm hold, but does keep loose hairs, and the shape of my beard without multiple applications. I am very pleased with my purchase, and will place another order again. ... show more

  • Clearing up the complaints in these other reviews.
First, the scent. What about the scent? There is much to-do about the scent in the reviews and you may be afraid that the scent is "strong" or that you'll smell like licorice all the time. Don't be concerned. I have no idea what these people are on about. There is a hint of anise (black licorice) but I think the scent is a mix of spice notes and woodsy scents with maybe a tiny bit of anise. I think, personally, the top note is clove. Is it a strong scent? No, absolutely not. One single spritz of cologne is way stronger than this stuff. Will you smell it? Yes, faintly, and for a little bit until you either adjust or the scent fades away--it's hard to measure what is actually happening under one's nose. Having used it for a few days, my wife did not even notice the scent of it on me. In fact, for the sake of science, I put a lot on one morning, waited a few minutes, and had my wife give me a sniff from about 5 inches away. She said that she couldn't really smell anything at all. In any event, I think it smells quite good. (NOTE: If you cringe at the thought of wearing even the weakest scent, as some men do, Honest Amish makes an unscented version of this balm.) Does it work? Yes. My beard is softer and it looks nicer too. I'd recommend the product to anyone who uses a stronger soap for face cleaning as a strong soap turns your beard hair into steel wool. This, along with some good conditioner, helps put things back into shape. Does it help with the dreaded beard itch? Yes, and boy was I glad that it did. Does it help with the dreaded beardruff? Yes, my skin is regularly flaky with beards and this took care of that too. Is it greasy? Well, at first it is a little moist. After you put it on, it does seem to soak up very well such that you don't have any meaningful residue on your beard. If you use a lot, it'll be a bit greasy, but if you've used a beard oil before you should know what you're in for. Does it help with holding or shaping? Basically, no. It does contain wax, but this stuff is for conditioning. If you want a bit more hold, buy the heavy duty balm (and see my review on that.) I used this stuff in the early stages of my beard and switched to the heavy duty balm when my beard got longer and more unruly. Does a little go a long way? Yes, so don't be put off by what seems to be a small tin. You're supposed to apply this to a damp beard and the dampness helps the small amount of the product go even further. There's no "set" amount to use here, naturally. You can tailor it to your liking or your need for conditioning. I tend to use a good-sized portion, particularly as my beard gets longer and before I transition over to the Heavy Duty Beard Balm. Still, I'm not burning through tins. I've had the same tin for more than a year. Get it. Try it. A "For The Ladies" Edit, 11/29/15: My wife, for whatever reason, started using this on the ends of her hair. She's been doing it for months now and swears by it. So, I asked her why she likes it so much. She said that it keeps her ends moisturized and it has helped to eliminate split ends. She said she also thinks it would have useful application in controlling fly-aways while braiding. I'm pretty sure I have very little idea what that means. ... show more

  • Feed your Mo, you'll be happy.
Honest Amish Beard Balm, I feel it does a good job keeping my winter fall seasoned mustache healthy, soft, and conditioned. I apply it at night when I go to bed and in the morning I can tell my Mo is happy. Having a good mustache is caring for your mustache. I don't mind the sent and its easy to apply to facial hair. I add the Honest Amish oil to my Mo. In my morning face care routine. ... show more

  • Great stuff! Very happy with it
This is my first experience with this product and I really like it. Been using it for a couple of weeks now. Fragrance is very pleasant and subtle. It dissipates quickly. Does a great job of moisturizing your beard.

  • Tamed my beard
I have been growing out my beard for the past eight months or so, and it was really getting long, a bit dry, and quite unruly. I tried Honest Amish beard balm and the difference was stark. Almost immediately (like, within one or two days) my beard looked cleaner, fuller, and straighter. It was also softer and my face felt much better to boot. This really is a great product that I would highly recommend to anyone looking to tame a longer beard. ... show more
