    • Difficult to Assemble

I love the look, sturdiness, and storage capabilities of this storage bench. However, it was a bear to put together. The bottom was a midge too long and wouldn't fit down in the opening properly. I went ahead and screwed it down anyway which actually helped seat it a little bit better. Then, it was difficult to screw down the hinge, already attached to the lid, to the box. If I lined up the holes on the hinge with the holes on the box, the lid wasn't centered on the box. I had to predrill new holes. Even then, it was difficult to screw in the screws tightly. A couple of them stripped before I could get them tightened down. By the way, I wound up having to use a drill with a screw driver bit. There was no way I could even begin to get anything screwed down using the little bitty screw driver that was included. I won't even discuss attaching the hinges to keep the lid open. The only parts easy to attach were the feet! But, it's finally put together, not in the best fashion, but will have to do. ... show more

Nice look, sturdy. Putting it together took some time. All pieces were labeled '7' so the directions didn't work for indicating what piece you should be working on. If you take a minute, you can figure it out. Very helpful for two people to work on it. Also take a minute to determine where you screw in the hinge. There are no holes started in the frame so you have to determine that yourself. There is a hole in the material but that moves around so it isn't accurate . Once put together, it's' great. Great for the price and sturdy and spacious once assembled, but take my advice and use your own screws cuz the ones that come with it are made of too soft a metal and the heads will twist off just as you almost have it in, and then it’s a pain to get out and redo. In one case, the pilot hole for one of the screws sat directly above something metal in the frame and we had to use a drill and put a new pilot hole next to it so we could actually use it. But still, once you get past the screws, it’s a great storage ottoman, sturdy and comfy. But if you don’t have your own screws or a drill, it may be problematic to assemble. ... show more

This is perfect. Great looking, very sturdy and a good value. I was a little confused how to attach the lid but otherwise easy to assemble. Material really does look like leather.

    • parts don't fit together, but apparently that's on purpose

the base board is too long, so this was difficult to assemble correctly. caeveat emptor. i reached out to customer support, and they sent a video showing how to basically slam the base board into place. this took some work but was manageable; the ottoman is now fully assembled and working correctly.

Got for hubbys closet to sit and put on shoes, etc, holds his weight and size easily, he loves it. Great extra storage for shoes. Only issue was 1 leg didn’t screw in, screw hole was too big or stripped on inside. Since we like it otherwise, just used some Gorilla glue and it’s fine.

The media could not be loaded. I got this one because it wasn't one of the folding ottomans because they don't look very sturdy and I'm very happy with it. It was kind of a pain to assemble, but now that it's together it looks great and fits a lot more than the better homes and gardens one that we had before. We fit 6 complete queen size sheets sets, a few unmatched fitted and flat sheets, and a big fleece blanket. With room for more. Probably wouldn't fit big comforters tho. ... show more
