  • The one to rule them all.
In the market for a home planetarium? Look no further, not only is this highly functional it is that statement piece you've long so desired. The one piece that you and your friends cannot stop talking about. This beauty of a piece can compliment any room in any design. It's modern, sleek, and functional. The build quality is second to none. Yes, this has a premium price tag but you are taking home premium hardware. It's a very small price to pay to have these stars glistening all in the convenience of your own home. Its a mood setter, a conversation starter that you and your family/friends will enjoy. Chris, the seller, has been extremely responsive and helpful. I am only bummed out about the discontinued feature of the night light but if it gains more traction and enough people want it then it might come back! The door is not yet closed everyone. With your help we can popularize it and one day maybe just maybe we can upgrade. ... show more

  • Expensive defective projector
The disc projected perfectly. The shooting star a neat effect. All switches worked perfectly except the rotation one. After four or five try’s, it started to rotate including the speed of rotation. HOWEVER, it would hesitate and then continue rotating. I turned off the unit several times to see if the switch would work first time trying. It wouldn’t all the time. Applied for refund. It was supposed to be a 53rd anniversary gift to my husband. I considered keeping because all the other switches work but finally decided that at $600 it should work perfectly. So returning. An update: I contacted Miller Engineering. I did hear back from them within 24 hours. Said all units are tested before leaving, switch must have come out of adjustment during shipping. I have sent this unit back requesting a refund, didn’t want to risk another unit with same issue. However, after two prompt communications with the company I have decided to order another unit after this has processed. My husband did love the night sky so will try again. Will give another update. A further update…. Much to my chagrin, error is with operator and not unit. After very patient and concerned emails with owner of company, the realization that I was missing an important step came to light. I am very happy that the unit wasn’t just returned and left at that! I think my husband (and I ) will be quite happy with this projector and will be buying new discs this week to start a collection. Thank you Chris! ... show more

  • So realistic display of stars & milkyway
This thing covers the entire ceiling of our living room. Very realistic looking and includes the Milky Way. Also has a timer so you don’t have to worry about getting up to turn it off if using it to get to sleep.

  • Gift for Son
My son originally wanted the astronaut planetarium for $70. I came across Dark Sky and it sounded pretty impressive. I bought this for my son's Christmas present. I thought it was not bad. Kind of a lot of money to pay...but then I have not compared it to others for less money. Probably a lot of work goes into this. Anyway, my son loves it and has it in his room for college. Probably makes for a romantic scene when he has his girlfriend over. ... show more

  • The Latest Darkstar for now
I am a bit sad that it did not come with the lamp function. Mine arrived with a small part of the pull out tab for the disc broken. It did not look bad, so i was ok with it. This is a realistic projector, and its worth it if you have the money, otherwise, i am also satisfied with the cheaper Pococo.

  • Not bright at all
This device might work okay in pitch dark but I can’t even find a room dark enough that it looks good in. Feels cheaply made and the bulb that powers it is Not bright at all. If you’re looking for brilliant sky effects, just stick with those little 30-60$ laser sky projectors all over Amazon. There’s some good ones out there. This one is barely viewable. ... show more

  • Looks cool, Not worth the price
Comes in a sleek package but projects the same quality of image as the Sega Homestar Flux which is half the price. Has the same bells and whistles.

  • Best Home Planetarium
This is the best Home Planetarium you can get. The Chrome discs is a must have. It projects the sky, including the milky way, just like the real sky. Even the brightness of the stars are quite accurate. The shooting star is just a gimmick. It doesn't look real, and I don't care for it or use it. As of this version, there is a minor issue. The unit would light up the projector and "remind" you the unit is powered on. I often use it in my room, project as a real night sky, right before I go to sleep. I let it time out and turn itself off. 6 hours later, between 3am-5am, the projector turns on with maximum brightness for a second to remind me it was on. Of course it wakes me up... Contacted the maker, they said it was by design. They may have a new version that doesn't remind people like that in the future. ... show more
