This is a very large, extra thick cushioned, and soft play mat. This mat came well packed and vacuum-sealed. It took a few days for it to flatten out and fluff up. It makes a great place for baby to play or nap. It also provides more comfortable seating for the adult on the floor with baby. I have also used the mat for my floor exercises.     • Great for hard floors
This HOMBYS Extra Thick Cushioned Play Mat is huge. It easily covers the available floor in our living room and can be folded in half for smaller areas. The top surface is very soft -- soft enough that you should be careful if you're wearing socks because it can be a bit slippery. A single thickness of this mat is probably enough to protect baby from hard flooring, but adult weight can compress it down a bit more so we often double it up. Probably the worst part of this mat is figuring out where to store it .... did I mention it's huge? ... show more

    • Very soft and cushiony
Hombys' 108"X72" Cushioned Play Mat is very large, thick, and soft. Its listing says its top layer is velvet, but it feels even softer than other velvet fabrics I've felt. It's one of those if you run your hand up and down it, you see a slightly darker or lighter color (think refers to its nap), the kind you probably made designs in then could quickly wipe away when you were a child if that makes sense. I appreciate that its listing is upfront and says it will take about 24 hours after laying it flat on the floor for it to return to the thickness it had before shipped and allow 4-5 days for the wrinkles to fully come out. Many companies don't disclose such important information. Vacuuming can probably help that process along, although I haven't tried that yet. The wrinkles are due to the way it is shipped and the company may want to reconsider the way this really great play mat is shipped. Bottomline, its got a super-soft texture and its memory foam makes it feel cushiony. It's fantastic and I very highly recommend it! ... show more

This extra large cushioned play mat by Hombys is wonderful. The price at the time of this review is $62.99. I love baby products from Hombys. This playmat is no exception. It measures 84 x 60 inches and is 0.8 inches thick. The top fabric layer is soft velvet that is extremely comfortable. The middle consists of 0.8" thick memory foam. The bottom includes a non-slip backing. The memory foam not only provides comfortable cushioning and protection from falls but it also acts as a noise reducer, meaning it absorbs sounds such as walking around, which is helpful for keeping sleeping babies asleep. I love the neutral shade of grey. I love everything about this. When you take it out of the packaging it will look funny, but lay it flat as best you can and it will slowly regain its correct shape and size. ... show more

    • Finally can get comfy on the floor with baby
Usually the soft surfaces for the babe are small in size, while you're stuck on the hard flooring next to them. But not with this gem! I can fully lay down on the floor with my baby now with ample room to spare. The largest size is like the size of a bed. So you'll want to factor in that you have that much free space in the intended location you want to put it, as it's quite large. It's thick enough that your little one can topple over and be protected, but sturdy enough that they can walk on it without it being too squishy and making early days walking more tricky. The bottom has a non-slip surface, so it stays nicely in place. It comes folded up, so there are some creases, but they eventually relax. Very pleased with this item. It's difficult to show the full size of this baby play mat, and I tried to put it in a room where I could take a picture of it. The way that the mat is shipped is not the best because it comes folded and has several creases and lines in it. It did take a couple of days for the mat to fully expand and the foam to rise. At first, I didn't think it would be able to flatten out and get to the level of thickness that it did. It just takes a long time so be patient. There are still lines in it that might go away over time with use and after vacuuming it a few times. I love the color of grey, and now that the plush mat has gotten a little thicker it's very nice and padded. It looks to be a great quality mat, and I like that it has a nice coating underneath to keep it in place depending on what type of floor you put it on! ... show more
