I’m using these shelves in a homeschool classroom so they need to be strong and nice looking as well. I can easily fill each shelf with 3-ring binders with extra space above them. These shelves are a nice width and depth for school textbooks and bi Dre’s as well. There’s a few inches of floor space below the bottoms shelf so I can store crayon boxes or reams of paper. Thanks to the open back & sides I can plug in a printer without cords being unsightly in the room. After just a couple days the shelves appear to be as durable as advertised. There is a metal bar under each the width of each shelf so I’m hopeful that I can keep them mostly loaded long term without warping or bowing in the middle. The distributor shipped them in a timely manner & everything arrived in good condition. A nice little bookcase. I'm using this in my kitchen for small appliance storage and it has nice vertical clearance on the two lower shelves. The appliances on top can be used where they are. The top shelf is quite thick. All three shelves are supported by one central steel rod (each) under their entire length to minimize sagging, so even the relatively thin middle and lower shelf will support more weight than you would think. When assembling this unit, keep in mind that the sides DO have a front and a back -- the back has holes for the cross-support. The directions are mostly pictorial vs written, and fairly good with lettered stickers on all parts, but they do need a larger diagram of the center of the cross support to show how they overlap and are bolted together -- the two flat spots in the center are bolted in contact with each other. My unit was assembled then tightened on carpet rather than on a hard surface, resulting it being a little rocky when moved to the hard floor of the kitchen. I recommend that the final tightening be made on a hard surface floor, preferably near where it will actually be used, to minimize this. I added four 1" diameter ,1/6" thick rubber pads to the feet and that fixed the rockiness. Be sure to tighten EVERY nut and bolt, but especially on the ends of the cross-supports. For a relatively cheap bookcase, this actually looks good, is very sturdy and was extremely easy to put together. I'm in a wheelchair, and I put it together by myself in about an hour. The holes all lined up, there were extra screws provided (on purpose!) and the instructions were actually very useful. I've put together some really horrible furniture over the years, and this was definitely one of the easiest to do. Kudos to the manufacturer - they did everything right. No, I was NOT provided this for an honest review. I bought it, and I actually wouldn't hesitate to buy another one. ... show more

I really was impressed with this shelf. I was very nervous it wld arrive damaged or missing parts but it came well packaged in styrofoam and plastic. Each small part was in sealed labeled plastic. They made sure to give extra small parts just in case. I put thus together by myself, even tho it suggests 2 ppl, very easily. The shelf is very sturdy with thick shelves. I kind of thought it would be taller and I'm 5'5 and it's just at the top of my forhead. But I'm not disappointed with the height. This should last awhile. ... show more
