First off I did not expect this thing to be so tiny lol but that makes it great to mess around with indoors. Also my hands are very tiny so the drone is maybe 4 inches. Setup is easy and the instructions were helpful. Flying it is also very easy. It’s very responsive and has great control. The motor is powerful. The self floating works pretty well too. It moves forward a bit, but that’s just something I have to calibrate on my end. Overall, a very good purchase for the money. Definitely recommend for a first drone. It flies very very fast lol so watch where you’re aiming. Don’t take out an eye lol Cannot attest to how long the battery works yet, as my son just opened this for his birthday, but will update my review after he messes with it more. Only thing I don’t like about it, is the controller takes 4 AAA batteries to work. Wish that it would have been rechargeable as well. ... show more

    • Great little drone for fun and practice.

The media could not be loaded. This mini drone from Holy Stone is very responsive and full of features. It is perfect, for kids, beginners, and anyone who just wants to have fun. I highly recommend it! It is also useful for practicing your flying skills, both indoors and outdoors. It does not take a relatively long time to charge (roughly 30 minutes) via USB or from the transmitter and gives you 5-8 minutes of flying time. It has several colored LEDs on the drone body and a bright white LED in the front, which look cool and also provide a method of tracking the drone and its orientation. It has three speeds from which to choose. All of the features worked great from the start. The One Key Take-off and Landing functions performed well. The Altitude Hold function worked pretty good, but the performance was improved even more by using the Trimmers buttons (as described in the user manual). The High Speed Rotation and Flip Mode are fun to try and watch. The One Key Return worked as described in the manual, but you do need to be aware of the drones’ position relative to you and the transmitter. Headless Mode allows you to control the drone relative to the transmitter so you do not have to be concerned about keeping the head of the drone facing away from you. I actually was surprised at the quality of the instruction manual and would recommend taking 5-10 minutes going through it before flying the drone. It will save you time and make the whole experience even more enjoyable (especially if you are a beginner or novice). The HS190 has been resilient and sturdy so far. We have run into several items and crashed at least a few times with no ill effects (the propeller guards were attached). Since the drone arms do fold, make sure you check and put them back in place after a crash. As for drawbacks of this drone, it's difficult to find any considering the functions and the price. It does take a little time to become acquainted with all the little buttons on the transmitter/controller. It would be nice if they were labeled, but that probably would not be practical for a drone of this size and price point. The manual says to be careful of over-charging the battery and recommends unplugging the charging cable once the battery is fully charged (LED on cable turns off when completed). We did not notice this in the manual at first and charged it for a much greater time. Fortunately, there were no problems afterward, but it is something to keep in mind. Overall, this has been a fantastic little drone thus far. I have not required any support from Holy Stone for this HS190, but response to inquiries and questions about their other products has been exceptional. 24hrs with this little thing and I am very satisfied. It's fast, small and durable. My first quadcopter and I have had no trouble flying it at all. Gets about 10 min flight for now. 30-40min for recharge. Search the device on youtube, there are lots of positive videos from drone-reviewers. The only real con is the charging cable, which is very thin and has a very tiny, proprietary connector. Very worried about this breaking, but we'll see. Tips: -Install the blade guards and get a case so you don't have to fold it up and can leave the guards on. I am currently waiting on one labeled for a Snaptain mini drone, I'll delete this if it does not fit. -Take your time trimming the flight and you'll get decent hovering, but holding it in place is a challenge in itself (a fun one). -To flip: press "R3" on the controller. The drone will beep. Then press the right controller in any direction. Be careful! -DO NOT press the bottom two buttons on the controller. They are for modes that can be difficult to understand and don't seem to have a lot of use. One of these WILL MAKE THE DRONE FLY AWAY AT HIGH SPEED!! They aren't easy to accidentally press, so they aren't a big issue. Edit: 72 hours later. It's a fun toy, but that's all it is. Returned. ... show more

This is a great beginner drone. I am an elder millenial and have had a lot of fun learning the intricacies of flying one of these things. I have a large indoor space to fly it with relatively few breakables around. The propeller guards mostly keep it from damaging anything I have around. If you collect precious moments or something you probably wont want to fly this indoors but it worked great indoors in my place. The battery life outlined in the manual is for real, probably 5 to 7 minutes. I also recommend using rechargeable AAA batteries for the transmitter controller. Try to keep those as juiced as possible. At the price point, this is a great little drone. Fun to use, a great stocking stuffer for any little ones interested in aviation. ... show more
