Well packed - box damaged but coffee maker intact. First impression was plastic seemed cheap & flimsy but after using, it is quite nice. Works well, easy to clean & coffee tastes great! I love that you can pause it and pour a cup before brewing cycle is complete. The opening to pour in the water is quite large which is another great feature as our previous coffee maker had a very small opening for this. It is a very bright red color which I also love. Unlike my previous coffee maker, this one keeps the coffee hot until I turn it off. My previous one wasn't really hot to begin with. I always had to heat in microwave or drink luke warm. My kitchen color pallet is red, so I only looked for a red coffee pot. This does seem a bit flimsy and light. But after using it, it's just fine. In fact, it makes my coffee hotter & faster than my old 5-cup Kenmore machine, in just under 5 minutes. I am used to having to turn off the burner after brewing. The only problem is that the light is not on the front, but on the side, as is the water measurement panel. I think some people put it sideways. I just use the coffee pot to measure the right amount of water & don't need to look at the panel. This machine is fairly long in depth, but narrow. I like that it allows me to put something next to it. I give it a "five" because it's a great little machine for the price, and is in my color. ... show more

I bought this to save on counter space but not too long after I got it..it no longer worked ..the heating element that carafe sits on didn't get hot. I liked it but it doesn't stand up to frequent use.

    • Why is it SO SLOW?

I'm the only coffee drinker in my home, so I love having a small coffee maker which doesn't take up precious counter space. I've used some of the small pot Mr. Coffee makers for a while now, but found this one on sale on Amazon and figured I'd give it a try. I wish I hadn't. It takes quite a bit longer (a difference of several minutes) to brew the same amount of coffee. It doesn't have an auto shut-off for the heating element/plate either. I'm notoriously forgetful, and it's nice to have the added safety of an auto-off heating plate - this doesn't have one. I just can't get my coffee to taste right out of it either. I've had it now for a couple of months. I followed the initial cleaning instructions. I have since made sure to keep the coffee pot clean, periodically do a deep clean on the reusable filter and basket, use cold filtered water, etc. I'm using the exact same coffee as usual and in the same amounts as well. Somehow, my coffee just isn't as good. It's almost burnt in aroma, and more bitter in taste. Lastly, I can't manage to pour out of the pot without getting water or coffee all over the place. I try to pour slowly, or quickly, or somewhere in the middle, and almost every time I manage to get the liquid within running down the side of the pot and onto the counter instead of into my mug.
