This shelf can be a little tricky to initially assemble, not difficult, just a bit tricky. Take your time and use some logic and you’ll get it, no problem. It’s a beautiful shelf and a unique design. It’s sturdy and stands well either full of books or not. I get a lot of compliments on it.

Definitely a nice starter book shelf. I was tired of having my stacks of books everywhere and no where to put them. I live in a smaller apartment and don't really have the space for a large book shelf - so this is perfect. I don't write a lot of reviews but I like this product's assembly. I ordered back in May and finally took time to assemble. ADHD might come to mind. Instructions are pictures. You need an electric drill. It does come with a tool, but there are around 40 long screws, to say my wrist hurts is an understatement. It did not come with a phillips screwdriver and you need one for a half dozen phillips screws. The sturdiness is good, but the height is shorter than I thought. It would be really cute for a kid shelf. The shelf comes with wall screw to teether so kids don't pull it on to themselves. Overall only took about an hour of actual assembling, I may have put a few pieces backwards and had to redo. And if I knew where a drill was probably could have cut the time in half. And for being months in a box, the letter stickers came off fairly well although a little more effort went into removing the product label sticker. Overall even with the few blips still a nice shelf for my cookbooks. ... show more

For what I paid, I would say, I got as expected. This is not a quality piece of furniture and the instructions are so so, but not impossible. There were a few scuff marks and pieces are not 100% aligned, but what can you expect for the price. It took me about 40 min to put together by hand but would be faster with a power tool. Only issue is that the screws are very visible (I got the white version) and I strongly recommend getting some white furniture stickers to cover up the hole.
