I bought these 2 trees and the tree over the book is ABSOLUTELY nothing like the picture. It is dark pink on one side and dark blue on the other. I haven’t started on the other one yet so I don’t know how it will come out. So far very disappointing.

I really liked the picture but when I started the painting I noticed that some of the diamonds were different than the others and they all have different sizes. I will add more pictures once I'm done with the painting.

There is value right there, since the price ($7.99 when I got it) is what you could pay for just one picture. You also get two accessory sets, so this set allows for two people to work on projects together. A few points about this set: * This isn’t truly 12 x 16. The measurements are slightly less since the canvas is really manufactured in metric. It’s 30 x 40 cm. I mention this in case you are intending on framing the pictures. They won’t fit exactly in frames made in the US. It’s a frustrating reality of diamond painting, and not something unique to this kit. * One picture uses 20 different colors of drills and one uses 21 colors. This is a good number of color variations for the size of the canvas. The more colors a picture uses translates into a finished product that is more detailed. This is particularly important for smaller pictures, like these. * While the accessories are basic, you do get more than you normally do with diamond painting kits. You get tweezers, 2 pieces of wax, and a cushion for the pen, which does make holding the pen more comfortable over extended periods of time. You also get enough of the zip bags to store all the colors of drills provided. I’ve never seen that before with all the kits I’ve gotten over the years. You don’t necessarily need your own storage containers for the drills as you work on the pictures. * There were no major creases in either canvas. There were some curves from folding the canvas during shipping, which is normal. It isn’t anything that doesn’t flatten out while you are working on the project. You can also place the canvas under something heavy (books, mattress) before you start the project to flatten it out. The canvas material is thick, which is important for carrying the weight of the drills if you want to mount the picture once completed. The canvas is less likely to sag. * The adhesive was sticky without any air “bubbles” that need to be corrected before you work on the painting. * The symbols are printed clearly on the canvas and are easy to read. The picture with darker colors has a couple of colors that don’t have good contrast between the background and symbol, which are harder to read. However, it isn’t too difficult to figure out the correct drill to use. I use a light pad under my canvases because my eyesight isn’t that good, so it wasn’t a problem at all. They also don’t use any symbols that can be confusing when working on the project. It’s all numbers and letters. I really appreciate this. It’s a pet peeve of mine when companies use special symbols that look similar to one another. * The weakest part of this set are the actual drills. They aren’t as shiny as many I’ve used in the past. The size is uniform and the backs are flat (so they stick to the canvas well), but the facets aren’t cut as well as some drills. That said, they do shine and the quality is within the price point of the kit. The drills aren’t “oily” or full of static, like you sometimes see with a lower priced diamond painting. * I’ve just started working on these, so I don’t know if enough drills have been provided. It seems like there will be, and I’ll assume that there are. If it turns out that there isn’t enough, I’ll update this review. Overall, this is a pretty good diamond painting kit for the price. I do these smaller size paintings purely for the relaxation value. This kit is going to give me that without a lot of frustrations I have experienced with other value priced kits. ... show more

    • Two sets of everything!

What I liked about these two paintings were that they both came with a separate set of tools, meaning two people can work on them separately, or - as was my case - I can work on them in two different locations without having to remember to bring the tools with me. As other reviewers mentioned, the canvases do arrive with a crease from shipping, so I'd recommend flattening them out under something heavy for a while to get them as flat as you can before starting. Obviously the finished project won't look exactly like the picture does, being made of a bunch of tiny dots, but the colors in the darker dragon set are gorgeous. For the size of the canvases and the fact that you get two whole paintings, I think it's a pretty good kit! Definitely recommend if you've got the patience for tedious projects like these (my favorite kind)! ... show more
