Features

  • Overview: The HiTorque Mini Mil has a 500W brushless spindle drive motor providing tremendous low-end torque and variable speeds from 100-2500 RPM continuously. The mill has a solid column and air spring head support. There are no gears to shift which reduces noise and improves performance. The table is 18.1" x 4.7" (460 mm x 120 mm) and 30% more travel than competitors. Also, resettable feed dials zero at any point, drill press handles and a Z-axis fine feed with 0.001" resolution.
  • Features: 500 watt brushless motor, large X-Y table, R8 spindle, solid column, gas strut on Z-axis, Z-axis fine feed, e-stop safety switch, adjustable z-axis stop, adjustable gibs, R8 to 33JT drill chuck arbor with 1/2" drill chuck, and three radial handles for drilling.
  • Included Items: Mini Mill Users Guide, two T-slot nuts, two end wrenches, four hex (Allen) wrenches, one spanner wrench, oil can (plastic), one 1/2" drill chuck, and R8 arbor.
  • Tips: This mill has a solid column. While a tilting column seems to be a feature, they are easily knocked out of tram and less rigid. While it is harder to tram in the X-axis because you must use shims, it is not as easy to knock it out of tram. The solid column has thicker walls than the tilting column, and a stiffer joint where it joins the base, so the column is significantly more rigid than the tilting column. That is why all mills fromare solid column.

  • Not a machinist
This mill is a totally new experience for me. I will never live long enough to use it to it's full ability. It is extremely well built, quiet to operate, and when you lock everything in flat and straight, the mill makes it nice. What I don't care for is raising the main part up and down, it just seems stiff. I am sure I am not doing something right, buy what the heck, it is all about learning. It is great for cleaning up welds in really tight places. It is expensive, but it is also quiet and accurate. Get what you pay for I guess. BE prepared to buy accessories. ... show more

  • WORKS, BUT
Works quietly but: - Quill coarse control doesn't operate smoothly - Quill fine control operates even less smoothly - Logo sticker bubbling up - Some wobble

  • Fun and very nice machine. So far has done everything I have asked for.
This thing is great even my friend who has a Bridgeport at home likes it. I just wish I had an RPM readout on it just so I'd know how fast it was going. The control is very precise.

  • Tiny but mighty
Unpacking was simple. Claw hammer and 4 bolts. Ended up using the 4 bolts to mount on my work table. Don't need much room for its small footprint. Have only used it for drilling and some tang work on knives. Great bang for your buck.

  • Customer Service STINKS
My new mill, which I purchased for my new workshop at home, arrived with the spindle bolt wrenched down so tightly that I had to use a small cheater bar on the ridiculously short, smaller diameter spindle lock pin in order to loosen the bolt so I could remove the drill chuck upon arrival. It was so tight, the spindle pin ended up bent and the handle broken. And the hole in the spindle deformed. I’m glad I had my less expensive, less fancy X2D at hand so I could make (rather than purchasing, as was suggested) a spindle lock “upgrade” to address the woefully inadequate spindle lock system on the more expensive mill I just purchased. It’s *almost* as if you should simply expect to pay an extra $46 for this “upgrade” simply to use the machine as intended. Unlike my ‘cheap, low-end’ Sieg, which comes with a much stronger spindle lock design. Suffice to say the quality of the customer service at LMS seems to vary, depending on who answers your email. I know there are things I have to purchase from them for these machines, but for everything else? I will buy it elsewhere. Flame away. I have spent at least a few thousand dollars with this company over the past three years and I have always been happy with my purchases. And the one time I had an issue with something I purchased from them, Roger made it right immediately, and was very courteous about it. This time? Nope. Roger didn’t answer my email. Some other guy did. The same guy got nasty with a friend who separately ordered a set of mill tools for me as a Christmas gift. I found out about his experience after telling him about mine. I try to support small businesses, but when you treat me like an idiot, and offer no resolution on your own, other than blaming the factory? My wallet is walking away. ... show more

  • Great value
Liking it so far. Been a great machine for the money. Motor is quiet. Good for small projects. If you can spend a little more, I’d buy the LMS version with DROs. Counting hand wheel turns gets old quick. But again, for the money, I’d recommend it.

It was what I expected and I’m very satisfied with it.

  • Quality machne
Few tuning issues but all and all a quality machine, more than enough torque for a mini mill, impressed
