  • bit of a pain with spectrum
Size: 50-Inch
ok. Xumo wifi worked great with everything except spectrum. being a data geek, I can fix this. 6 hours later was wishing I had an AR-15. uploaded new app. uploaded all apps. finally totally shut down PC, TV, modem, router, Xumo, all that. after 2 days. now it works. best color and image ever. added iline soundbar. plug comes out easy, link to TV is short. but Dolby is awesome. I'm deaf as a post but can understand it. I liked old spectrum better, remote could lit favorite shows (got that ), but ability to list what I want for next week doesn't seem to be there. I have a watch list, but no reminder, go to 60 minutes. show on startup, list of all the channels got that. has tons of stuff built in. of course you have to get passwords and usernames...and pay. best to look at what is bundled. oh yeah, spectrum owns 3 major channels. so you need Xumo , or fire or roku to watch it. cable is dead. so blame gen x. As a TV, awesome. Setting up, its a pain. and complaints are legion. Xumo and Spectrum blame each other. I had that happen in flight test. I'm retired. enough. Samsung was previous TV, was a smart TV, but had the IQ of MAGA. this works great. just chill, relax. you will need model #, write that on instruction manual. also on plugs on the back, make sure you look at it carefully before you hang on wall or sety upright. audio to soundbar was a wtf...HDMI was a bit hard to plug in. plug it in before you set upright. much easier. unless you have really long arms. has an Rca plug so dvd can be used, haven't gotten that set up yet. find youtube crank up The Who and rock. oh yeah, need to sign up for that unless you just don't want a saved play list. ... show more

  • The picture is great for the price and sise
Size: 65-Inch
This TV is quite lite for its size and has a very good picture from straight on , that is based on only 13 days is service so durability is not yet known. The sound is useable in a 24 by 14 room but I have attached it to a high end sound system so its not applicable. The fiber optic audio out works fine. The remote does not make it easy to get around the channels but that is true of google TV on its own, not necessarily the TV. The TV has many options and some are hard to find or depend on other settings which are not clear, but the basics are very easy to set up. I have voice remote but the instructions tell of a switch under the tv to set for hands free, and it doesn't exist. Over all an excellent value for a TV this size and cost ($399 when I bought it). On other note the TV does not have a standard RCA jack for video in which may affect hook up of an older DVD player. The TV does not come with a printed users manual and the content is to long and complicated for the electronic version to be helpful. That should be corrected but I assume is a cost cutting factor. The view deteriorates fairly quickly jf viewed from an angle, but remains useable. I am very pleased with the TV overal. Now if it lasts its great. I don't use the TV for gaming so the rating would have been NA if that was available ... show more

  • An eminently practical TV
Size: 50-Inch
-Very large -Picture quality is good, but I have to deduct a star for the shimmering effect when viewing at an angle -Standard Google TV OS makes for a very practical, one remote option with a good UI and lots of available content -Audio quality is good, but not great. -Easy to set up, including connecting to wifi and accounts Overall, this TV is excellent for the price point. ... show more

  • Nice TV But Was It New?
Size: 43-Inch
I watched video after video of unboxing of this TV on Youtube.com. Without fail each person would remove the large sheet of protective plastic off the screen. My TV came with no such protective plastic. Just a roll of packing tape around the outside edges holding the marketing materials in place. Makes me think it's a return sold to me as new. Not good. As far as the TV goes, it's nice. Has a great picture, some great features. The Google TV setup is really invasive as far as privacy is concerned. It asks for Google account sign to setup the TV then will show every channel you are subbed to on Youtube.com. There's more but if you are concerned about privacy you've been warned. The good thing is the TV offers two setups, one for Google TV or just basic. Basic will allow no privacy issues and you can use it like most TVs with cable, blueray players, or gaming system or even over the air antenna. You can connect to the internet with either wifi or ethernet connection. I setup as Google TV at first. But the home screen shoves "buy this " in your face over letting you see your favorites apps first. Since I have a Roku player I just set up the TV again as basic and used that. Some functions I liked though are the reset button on the back. It allows you to reset to factory settings and the choose Google TV or basic setup. If you're unhappy with your choice, just reset and set up it again. The other thing some were saying the there is a button for Menu at the bottom of the TV and their TV didn't have it. I thought so on my as well. Looked everywhere and there was nothing but a red light plastic thing that does nothing. Well the menu button is actually behind that. Strange place for it and hard to find but it's there is remote batteries go back. Also Hisense TVs do not come with 4k activated. You have change settings in the HDMI settings to advance format. This is under menu on remote not settings. Overall a nice TV but the Google TV is just too much and cluttered. Prefer my Roku which plays well with this TV. I give this 4 stars as I think I was sent a return or used one. ... show more
