  • Mind blowing for the money
Size: 65-Inch
The price to performance is just insane. A decent 50 inch oled can't be had for this price, and even if you could... I'd go for this. The blacks are still stellar with no visible banding on the edges or halo effect at a normal viewing distance. Framerates are superb, but more importantly frame timing is also. 120hz from a media PC and my steam deck is stellar. Upscaling of our switch is too. This thing can actually game. Not just "oh I play Xbox and like big shiny TV" game, but "oh this guy is someone I wouldn't want to talk to about electronics at a party" kind of game. Colors are great, motion is smooth, very acceptable delay in frame time, HDR is exceptional. The only odd choice is putting inputs on the left. I would prefer a little more I/O, but this is fine. The screen gets very bright, and has no issues being next to very large south facing windows. Glare is very well controlled. Our viewing angles are all close enough but even walking around, I haven't noticed any issues. Lots and lots of settings and the menus make sense to use. Bravo there. And I actually like the interface. The Samsung smart TV it replaced was a 2021 model year but had an abysmal full second delay between remote input and response. It was unusable. It also served ads on the pop-up bar for alcohol and gambling, which I felt was wildly inappropriate. The smart TV use experience itself is great. We don't use any streaming services other than YouTube, everything else comes off my plex server via the streaming pc, bit the youtube app works great, and my wide has occasionally used some of the built in apps with no issue. It can control the A/V audio level with the remote too - again, the Samsung couldn't. I can't speak to the sound quality because we use a proper stereo. But do yourself a favor. Get something. Hivi swans or something from edifier. They're plug and play. Not a soundbar. Bookshelf speakers. Spend a hundred bucks on a nice 2 speaker system and then toss a cheap subwoofer on it later. No modern TV has acceptable sound at any price. But overall, perfect 10 for the money. The I/O, the interface, display quality, brightness, smoothness, gaming, movies, HDR, it does them all at a level I can't fault for the price. ... show more

  • Stunning display with a few minor complaints
Size: 55-Inch
This TV (Hisense 55U8K) is an absolute treat to the eyes when watching movies, shows, or playing games. Photos don't do it justice you have to see it in person to fully experience it. I have some cons that I am listing as well as pros. The cons don't stop me from enjoying this TV any less they are just some things to keep in mind if you decide to get this TV. I am not mentioning specs much in the review as they are mentioned above in the listing and spec sheet. For a full review of every little spec and detail see rtings.com (not misspelled) review. Overall, this TV is great for those interested in really any kind of content but just keep some of the cons in mind. Pros: *Automatic picture settings works amazing at recognizing the content type and adjusting to it, (must be enabled in settings). *4K 120hz is native and even games that don'ts support it benefit from reduced latency (like in the Forza Horizon 5 photos). *Everything looks so life like and clear, haven't run into anything looking off or terrible. Even old games are upscaled and look fine. *The speakers are amazing, the subwoofer makes action in movies truly immersive. *Price is way lower than other comparable displays. *Micro LED so no burn in and has good contrast especially blacks. *Dolby Vision and HDR are both supported unlike Samsung displays. *The game bar and FPS viewing are nice features for gamers. Cons: *AV (component) is supported but the adapter needed is not included, you have to go their support site to have them send you it. *When changing picture mode out of Auto you have to go back into the TV settings to turn it back on. *Only 2 HDMI ports are 144hz with one being the E-ARC and the other two just regular 4K 60hz. *Google TV setup makes you accept their privacy terms and such which is annoying. Auto content recognition requires accepting Hisense privacy terms. *Onboard storage is known to a fault with Hisense so using a Fire stick or Roku will extend the life of your TV. *Don't sell my information is off by default *You have to change the HDMI configuration on each port to enhanced for 4k content to work correctly ... show more
