This thing is huge, and bright, and looks great. I've only had it a few weeks but no problems so far. The thing was seriously packaged well, and the packaging even allowed me to put the feet on it before taking the styrofoam supports off the bottom, so I never had issues with it tipping over, or having to lean it up on something. It also has handles on the back top help pick it up. I thought it was going to be an issue but 2 of us put it up on a counter no problem. 2 issues if you're going to buy the 100inch, the feet are too far apart and too deep for most entertainment centers, and the weight exceeds what the average wall mount is rated for, so plan accordingly. It also take up your entire living room, if you order the TV then have to go searching for something to put it on. ... show more

Got this 100" Hisense U8 (mini LED) on Black Friday sale for $2699 but would easily pay more! Love how big it is and the picture clarity is stunning! It especially looks good because our tall ceilings in this living room made our 75" TV that this replaced look small lol. This TV is the perfect fit! I don't know what the lower end U76 version of this Hisense TV looks like but I can tell ya that you won't go wrong with this one! NOTE: It was super easy to install the legs (watch a youtube vid on that) and then for me and one of my neighbors to (somewhat nervously, but it never wobbled on us) lift it up onto the console. No need to wall mount this thing it looks great sitting on the console we already had! ... show more

I'm writing this review after owning the Hisense 75" U8 for over a year. It's rare to find a TV that holds up so well over time, but this one has exceeded my expectations. The picture quality is still as stunning as the day I bought it. It's a testament to the quality of the Mini-LED and ULED technology. I'm very happy with my purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a long-lasting, high-performing TV. Also side note I found a review for this TV before buying on rtratings I used their recommended settings for the calibration. I also have not fully connected to Google services just the basic as I read once that's enabled there is no way to go back. I am using this TV mostly through a mini PC connected to it with also having my Xbox series X and a soundbar. ... show more

Games and shows and movies have inky black levels, super bright white levels, and colors pop vibrantly. Not really any noticable blooming in dark scenery with spots of light, though I have astigmatism so everything has blooming, even in real life, so I tend to not notice as much in tvs. I did need to play with the settings for about 30 minutes to get everything the way I like it, but after that it's one of the best displays I've seen in awhile, especially for the sale price. Pc usage wasn't so bad either, but suffers from the typical ghosting and whatnot va panels are known for. Terrible side viewing, but not really an issue as tv is in a corner and always facing near directly. Overall amazing picture, just not out of the box. Used a PS5 with HDMI 2.1 cable for video and game testing, and pc with GTX 3070 and HDMI 2.1 cable for pc (and pc gaming ) testing. Only thing I REALLY HATE is the legs...I wish it was like my older tv with a middle base (that also swiveled). You need a WIDE tv stand if you want to use this thing and I HATE that...it's the primary reason I didn't go bigger than the 55"... can't fit anything wider...so dumb...almost wanted to give it 3 stars for that alone (kidding). ... show more

    • Awful Google TV Interface & Terrible Menu / Remote

I never intended to write a review but recently this abysmal "smart" TV interface had me format (2) USB drives filled with television and movies that I had been using for months with a prior television as well as this one. Reason being, apparently because I had de-activated Google TV (because it's offensively bad) and unbeknownst to me, it screwed with the television's ability to read USB drives etc and wanted to format the drives. Lost over 700gig of content. On to some other grievances: - the remote is clumsily designed with the universal "play/pause" button the same size and shape as "menu" and "#'s" and are right next to one another. It also has (5) unnecessary streaming subscription buttons - like most "smart" TVs, it lags during menu or settings operations because its system is just an old version of an Android phone, probably from the late 2010s - even after pairing a bluetooth headphone, it still takes 10 button presses to connect to it, ie there should just be a bluetooth button to press, then choose to connect to a previous device - despite having several speakers and a subwoofer, the sound leaves quite a bit to be desired... it sounds worse than the 2019 LG TV it replaced, ie missing a lot of low-end - the file explorer (media center) is extremely clunky, ie text is so large that most movie titles are truncated, if you jump forward and backward during content you then have to press "ok" to reach that time point instead of it automatically jumping to that point after you release the forward or back button - the web browser is worthless - the screen share option is unusable as every 2 minutes the audio and video get choppy for 5-10 seconds (tried (2) different phones) otherwise, the picture quality is quite nice but I couldn't recommend this TV to anyone other than users who would strictly watch discs or stream ... show more
