We raise chickens and I wanted a superior boot other than the light "chicken boots' the hatcheries want to sell you. I need something that will keep me separated from chicken droppings and the other muck involved while processing chickens on butcher day. I don't need a steel toe. These boots have been great, butcher day involves a lot of water and mud and general mess. These are a great thickness and easy to clean since they need to be sterilized pretty frequently. An earlier review explained the boot biting into his foot where the steel toe is molded in but mine seem to have an added layer there so I had no issues. I have been wearing these for hours at a time and they are comfortable and durable. A much better boot at a better price than a lot I have seen. I'm not wearing it every day but only for a few hours a couple days a week they are a comfortable and efficient boot. Also, I wear a size 9 in everyday shoe and these seem to be sized as your everyday shoe. No problems getting them on and off, I don't need to struggle or have someone pull them off for me. I wear a 9 normally and these fit like there 2 sizes too big. Going to have to exchange them. Seems like they're good quality though insole is comfor.

I used these for 2 days as a volunteer for an organization helping flood-damaged homes in National City, and they worked well. Having read other reviews, I will attest that these boots run on the large side which was okay since I have wide feet. I generally do not prefer boots outside of work situations, so to help with this, I wore boot socks as well and I got along fine in those 2 days without problems. If I were to have any criticism, it's that that between the steel toe protection and the rest of the shoe, there is very little support structure to the shoe. Where this is noticeable is when you have to lift your heels more than 45 degrees or so while keeping your toes on the ground - the middle part of the top of your foot can get pinched or becomes uncomfortable. This is because the underside of the boot will lift and force that part of your foot to press against the steel toe support. This may also cause, over time, the steel toe support to possibly tear through the boot, but I will update that if this happens. In the meantime, I will just limit how much I do this type of movement. The padding that is inside the boot is comfortable, but as another review has mentioned, I agree it is not built for walking great distances or fast. I am happy to report that I usually get cramps in boots because of my flat feet, but I didn't have that problem at all with these boots. I would highly recommend these boots for muck work, which I used them for. It's nice to also be able to simply hose them off at the end of the day to get them TR clean. I suspect these won't last for years, because the rubber around the ankles have to squash and bend as you walk around because everyone is all one layer or one outer shell. the rubber seems durable and I haven't accidentally cut it knocked it yet so I can't really tell. but the parts where the arch of your foot goes feels odd and painful. the tred on the heel and foot pad under sides are very thick and I assume would last a very long time. human feet are weird and unique so if these had customized insoles, it would be much better. ... show more

Really happy with these water boots! They fit well, feel comfortable, and I love the steel toe feature—great for extra protection. The little notch on the heel is a cool bonus too; makes it super easy to slip them off without using my hands. Definitely recommend!

    • Just what I needed
Size: 10 Color: Black
Purchased these boots so that I could wade into the incoming waves at the shoreline. This would enable me to photograph the wave action more closely, and not have so much of the bare beach in the frame. Tried them out last night, and must say, exceeded my expectations. Never had to worry about wet feet, and was able to move far enough out that I was able to capture the receding waves. Can't do that very well from a distance. Looking forward to many more outings. Very pleased with the results obtained because of the range these provided. A follow up. Went out again to photograph the surf along the beach. This time was at ebb tide. The receding tide had left pools between the sand bars. Having the boots enabled me to wade into these pools to capture some amazing reflections from the setting sun. Know this isn't the reason many would buy this boot, but if it works so well for my unusual requirement, think what it could do for a more normal requirement. Heartily recommend ... show more
