So I've been using Purina formula for uti and hairball for 13 years what ive always done is a mixture of that and blue Buffalo. I ran out of cat food so instead switched to a 50/50 blend of this science hill and blue buffalo to see if it would be better. I had previously tried a few times using royal canin with blue Buffalo mix which didn't give me any better results at all and was so much more costly. The hills is around twice as much as Purina but I found this to be the absolute best one. Fully deserving of the added cost. I've used this for the past 2 months and have noticed notable changes with my cat. He just seems healthier. I cab absolutely tell the difference within only 4 days and after 2 months I can honestly say this brand is a lot better than Purina. The Purina brand for uti food does work and it's not bad. But this one is just simply better. I believe because the ingredients are much healthier. And there was no transition issues at all it was actually the opposite of that he immediately inproved. I totally recommend this hands down. For me it's a no brainer to spend the little bit extra money to have a lot better product. Will help the cat live healthier life without trips to the vet worried why the cat isn't feeling good. ... show more

This item is a must if you have a cat because if you’ve ever paid a veterinarian when a cat has crystals, you will be flabbergasted at the price you were charged. I asked my vet with this hurt my New rescue cat even though they seem to have no issues and I was told it was perfectly fine to use and it was good for prevention. My cat has a ton of food sensitivities, so dry food is an extreme challenge. If you even look at her, she'll puke her food up. It's bad. And yes she has a slow feeder! But she will itch, lose fur, get sores and vomit even with extremely expensive dry food brands to try to accommodate. She recently had a uti and as she's getting older, I decided prevention would be key(and help with her senior kidneys, as it's so common to find issues with them as they age). Surprisingly, she has had no adverse reactions to this- at all. She has with other science diet formulas, but something about this one just works:) her coat is so much softer, shes no longer vomiting, and shes got a pep back in her step with an energy boost. will definitely be our go to from now on! ... show more

My cat has had issues with urethral blockage quite a few times. I’ve had to take him to the vet to get unblocked and that’s hundreds of dollars. They say it’s crystals that accumulate and block his ureter so he can’t pee. I’ve seen it, it’s awful. After switching to this food consistently he has not had any blockages. I adopted two older cats. The vet mentioned that one cat had small crystals in his urine. This can cause trouble for cats in the future. Although it was not recommended that I purchase special food for my cats I chose to do so from a proactive angle. The other had issues with hairballs.
