Description

Ultrastar DC HC320 is based on a proven 5-disk air platform design that uses conventional magnetic recording (CMR) technology in a 3.5-inch large form factor. Compared to the prior generation, Ultrastar 7K6000, the DC HC320 delivers 33% more capacity, up to 12% performance boost and uses slightly larger-diameter media. It features a second-generation, dual-stage micro actuator to enhance head positioning accuracy for better drive performance. Write performance gains are also supported by Western Digital’s media cache architecture, a disk-based caching technology that provides a large cache area on the disk, which also improves reliability and data integrity during unexpected power loss. Finally, the addition of flash-based non-volatile cache (NVC) helps improve write performance. The Ultrastar DC HC320 also includes a Rebuild Assist feature, which helps dramatically reduce RAID rebuild times and maintain system performance.

  • These are not new drives
These are refurbished drives. One I received had 20,000 hour runtime, the second 30,000 hours. Be aware this product is not new, but refurbished .

  • Drive is still working
Drive has had a month of uptime or so and is still working . its a bit of a noisy drive with its clicks but i have it in an open case currently so that contributes. seeking is maybe the most noise it makes generally .

  • it looks like a new product, but
his is not a retail genuine product. The box is plain, and the product is sealed in bubble wrap with anti-static plastic. The product itself is clean, but the manufacturing date cannot be confirmed from the product label. I know this because I have already purchased and used genuine products. When I mounted the HDD and checked the information, I found that the product had already been used for nearly 40,000 hours. I don't know if the meaning of "NEW" on the page is different from what I know as "NEW," but I have decided to request a refund. There is no mention of this anywhere on the page. ... show more

  • Refurbish NO LIMITED WARRANTY
Mine arrive with 33987 power on hours (1416 Days and 3 Hours) without warranty due to being sold to a system manufacturer, pretty much what you'll get is a refurbish unit already being used and repacked, another ultrastar unit I have previously purchase through amazon was a brand one unit which still have "IN LIMITED WARRANTY", this just has become a lottery ... show more

  • Nothing wrong with this product but...
This drive IS NOT for US sale. Immediately after I received it I entered the serial number at the WD website to check on the warranty and it said: Status: OUT OF REGION Description: VL8 Drive ASM 8.0TB, 512e, SATA P3_PWDIS_Not Support, OEM-AP, Secure Erase Note sure what "Secure Erase" means but the "Not Supported" means WD won't do anything if the unit breaks. The seller should state this in the description somewhere. Waste of my time! ... show more

  • Sold as new - not new
As other reviewers pointed out, drives are actually used but are being sold as new. smartctl reports roughly 33,000 hours.

  • refurnished disk with 30k+ running hours
It is recommended that sellers clearly indicate that this hard drive is second-hand.
