  • Excellent drive
Received precisely as ordered, using it as a backup drive for an existing array. No problems, no errors, I anticipate a good lifetime from this drive.

  • First one failed, replacement was good.
Mid life HGST disc for a NAS. First disc failed after being formatted. Back it went. Replacement formatted and works OK. Only buy used discs that Amazon delivers and certifies. Then if it fails you have a simple means of returning it for replacement. Always format it for your computer and write files to it filling it up completely. For a NAS rebuild the array and make certain it is not degraded. When buying used discs always use a program like Drive DX to evaluate the SMART data. HGST brand discs do give a long life. I have several bought new with that have accumulated 50,000 hours. Still are quiet, give no problems and pass DriveDX checking with 50%+ life remaining. ... show more

  • Buen Almacenamiento masivo
Tipo de disco HDD de buen rendimiento, para almacenamiento masivo pero de bajo rendimiento de I/O, con buena capacidad a un precio muy atractivo.

  • IT refurb HDD are the great filibusterers to home NAS boxes
Picked up 4 of these for my (internal) mac pro (mid-2012) RAID adapter. After two months: So Far, So Good! Albeit, for drives that were initially manufactured 2013 they are 'Noisy under Seek'. But that's to be expected. And frequently run at approx 135-140 F degrees I previously had WD Black 2TB HDD arrayed, these HGST are def a step down in PERFORMANCE: like approx 305 MB/s less; My NewerTech MAXPower 6G RAID adapter can achieve data transfer speeds up to 500MB/s. But 6TB (RAID 5) doesn't go as far as it use to and I need the (internal) space now. So all finished video projects are archived on this new 12TB RAID 5 array. Editing native 1440p media files off the HGST HDDs isn't impossible, when necessary, but not preferred. But I rarely ever edit of those internal drives since we constantly suitcase (transfer) media files on the go and edit via USB3.1 or TB2 adapter I wouldn't recommend these for ur Priority Back-up (Yes, I have another +12TB NAS on-site), but if configuring on Economy budget, then absolutely be sure to invest in 1 [one] additional HDD at point of purchase, for when, or if, one of these 4TB IT-refub HDDs fails, i.e. RAID 5 degrade. Kinda defeats purpose of investing w 5yr Warranty Seller, but is still cheaper than the alternative. MAIN tasks: - archival - 143 - 150 MB/s Read/Write - NON-boot os or main partition ... show more

  • Bought 2 both working great.
I bought 2 drives, did stress test for 48 hours on both before installing them in my server. No bad or weak sectors, temps within norms. They were packaged very well. These HGST Ultrastar enterprise drives are noisy, but all enterprise grade drives are going to make noise. I'm ok with the noise. They are in my server, in a back room, so noise isn't a problem. Only time will tell if they hold up. ... show more

  • A little loud but works great
Other reviewers will mention that the drive makes noise when it's transferring files. For my application, the noise is a nothingburger. I have six of these drives and haven't had any issues yet. To be fair, it's been less than a month but I suspect that if a company is putting a five year warranty on an item, they are expecting to never see it again. I'm happy. ... show more

  • Good value
They sort of run hot so cool them well, These on the used market are probably the best value you can find for cheap storage, Great for low cost raids in home servers, great for a game drive to preserve the life of your ssd C: drive. For data hoarders on a low budget, These drives are King.
