Description

Evaporative cooling fans are designed to pull hot, dry air through a water- soaked media filter using a water pump and fan. As the hot air passes through the cooler water, water evaporates into the air and the air's temperature will drop. They are optimal when used in hot, dry climates. These evaporative coolers can be used to filter ambient air while increasing the humidity and delivering cool airflow. Evaporative air cooling fans do not use refrigerants to remove heat like an air conditioner, so they are less effective in high humidity areas. Hessaire MC26A cooling fans are the most versatile portable evaporative cooling fans on the market, delivering 2,100 CFM of cool airflow covering up to 700 sq ft of open space. The MC26A cooling fan has a 7.3-gallon water tank creating up to 3-4 hours of use. The built-in float valve and garden hose adapter allows for easy connection and contiguous water flow without overflowing your tank. This unit features include: Blue Ice Packs: Two included blue ice packs further cool down the water for chillier airflow. Dual Fill Options: Fill the seven-gallon water tank manually through the front fill water door or use the included garden hose hook-up with float valve for continuous water fill. Water Tank: A seven-gallon water tank ensures less refills with nonstop cooling. Some Assembly is required.Key Operational Points: Your cooling fan must be positioned in front of an open window or door to operate effectively. Always ensure that there is another open window or door through which the air can exhaust from within the room. At the end of each day, run your cooler on FAN ONLY for 30 minutes to dry out the filter. Prior to putting your cooler away for winter, always: A.) Drain the tank and wipe out clean B.) Clean the filter C.) Reassemble and run-on FAN ONLY for 30 minutes to dry out the filter.

  • Great but big
Having lived in a house without air conditioning for over 50 years, I've been purchasing portable evaporative coolers. The last one I had in my bedroom broke, and I started doing research on the best portable evaporative coolers. Hessaire was at the top of every list, so I got the MC26A portable cooler. I bought it because Hessiaire said it was their "The MC26 is the 2nd smallest size and ideal for tight spaces. It features a humidity control and an air sweep function for broader coverage. It weighs just 28 lbs and is very portable. It measures 25” wide by 35” tall. It is our only cooler with a humidity control feature, electronic controls and a remote control." It's pretty big for a bedroom, and would work great on a patio or garage. Thought I would return it because it was so big, but decided to try it our first. It works really well, and is super quiet! It keeps the room very, very cool during the night. It does have some humidity sensor thing or something, but I leave the bedroom windows open while running it. During the day I turn it and point it down the stairs from the bedroom, and it cools down the house a lot. (I live in a tri-level) It does have a hookup for a hose if you have it outside, and the place to pour the water (if you don't use a hose) is in the front, with a floating red ball so you know how much to fill it. Very convenient. (My last cooler I had to pour the water in the back, so it was in-convenient. Probably won't use the two ice packs that you can put in the top to make the air cooler, because then you have to re-freeze them every day. Also easy to put the wheels on and you didn't have to take anything out of the inside of the cooler to assemble it like my other one. I would totally recommend this product, but be aware that it is rather big for a small bedroom. ... show more

  • Keeps every room cool where it is being used.
Works great. I like Hessaire products. I've had my large Hessaire cooler for six years and couldn't be happier. This one is smaller but works very well for it's size.

  • Good performance
This evaporative cooler does a great job blowing a lot of air while being very quiet. I use it on our patio in TX and it’s cooling performance is directly related to the humidity level. I tested it at 35% humidity today and the output air was ~18 degrees cooler and I could really feel the difference! 94 deg air being pulled in and 76 deg air blowing out. This matched up with the table I posted so was a nice surprise. Low humidity is definitely better and above 50% won’t cool nearly as well, but still works ok. Pros: - Looks nice, is mobile and not too heavy - Draws a max between 50W (low fan only) and 90W (max fan, pump on). I run it off a solar charged generator so it’s reasonably energy efficient. - Price is ok, not great - Remote is included - Easy to set up and use - Cools nicely (in low humidity) - Strong and quiet fan with oscillation feature. - Tank holds a good amount of water good for >3 hr. - Auto fill option works as expected (if used). Cons: - Remote doesn’t work beyond a few feet max when unit is in direct sun. It works at a further distance when it shaded. So expect to get up even with the remote. - The touch panel is NOT sensitive enough. I have to annoyingly press multiple times for it to turn on or change the fan speed, etc. It’s easier to use the remote at 6 inches than to press a button 10 times! - somewhat plastic-y and cheap feel to it, but ok. - Manual recommends draining the tank and running the fan (only) for 30 min to dry out the paper media. It’s not hard but is extra work (think prevent mosquitoes?) so I do it. Also, some sort of algaecide will be need to be added every so often to prevent bacterial or mold growth. Overall a nice unit that does what it promises. UPDATE: 1) If you want to set the Relative Humidity (RH) level on the unit, it states to press the PUMP symbol. This only works on the display unit itself and not with the remote control. Both the display and remote show the same “water drop” symbol. 2) It seems that the touch buttons on the unit are finicky, but I had better luck doing this: - Power button: Press and hold finger for about 3 seconds. This seems to work better. - All other buttons: A short press works ok. ... show more

  • Leaks a lot!
I really tried to like this cooler but I just can’t. First this thing leaks everywhere. Sure I was able to slow it and once get it to stop, eventually it started leaking again from a different spot. This is not my first evaporative cooler like this so I know how to deal with these devices. Having said that this thing has many flaws. I understand that space saving is always a plus but in this case it is too much. The pads and everything inside this feels cramped making cleaning difficult to say the least. Second like I stated before this thing leaks worse than any other portable evaporative cooler I have ever owned. Next the fan on high is not very high and I was disappointed. When cleaning this thing there is a bubble float to show the water level but that part is so very fragile that it broke with the lightest touch. I have contacted customer support to inquire about any assistance or any type of refund and no response yet. I will update this review if I receive any response or any type of assistance or refund. As it stands I would definitely discourage anyone from buying this cooler. Buyer beware! ... show more
