Description

This book reveals the unorthodox beliefs of Westcott and Hort who are the men most responsible for the 'new' Greek text that underlies the 'new' bible versions. Their heterodoxy blinded their intellects, and prejudiced them adversely and unfairly in their textual theories of the Greek New Testament. This book contains 125 direct quotations of Westcott and Hort from 1,291 pages as contained in five books by both men. Read more

Information is here, the reading (the mechanics of it) is a bit challenging.

  • EVERYTHING IN THIS BOOK IS EASY TO CONFIRM.
I don't understand the attacks on this book and it's author. Westcott and Hort were Jesuits to their darkest core. One need only read the letters between these two "gentlemen" to see their thoroughly black-hearted correspondence and intent to confuse and change God's Word. The New Testament was written in "Koine" Greek, not the Greek that the Catholic Church, via Jesuits, used to counter the Great Awakening in the United States and Europe. People need to open their eyes to the corruption in this world. Westcott and Hort took the verses out of the New Testament that hold up Jesus Christ as the Son of God and the only route to Heaven. One need only do a little research on these two men and the Papacy to catch the obvious and subtle changes to God's Word. Millions have died to preserve the Holy Bible in it's purest form. Just do some research on the methods of the Vatican Assassins and the secret society affiliations they have from the various "Knighthoods to Freemasonry". ... show more

  • Heresy!
This book does a good job of exposing Westcott and Hort for the Heretics that they were. Extensive documentation of things that they said, taught, and believed. This book dosent get too deep into trashing their Greek text(Identity of the New Testament Text by Pickering) will do that for you. This book just shows how faulty the foundation of faith were (the men) that started this new textual criticism that abounds today. ... show more

  • Excellent Source Revealing the Truth of Westcott and Hort
This is an ideal reference for anyone who is seriously researching Biblical Textual Criticism.

  • There is a tendency among certain fundamentalists. . .
. . .to attack the names and reputations of the 19th century Anglican Bible scholars Westcott and Hort. This book is a classic example. Most of the attacks are ad hominim in nature, and stem from the fact that Westcott and Hort were instrumental in producing a Greek text of the New Testament which differs in some respects from the Received Text translated by Erasmus in the 16th century. It is the Received Text upon which the New Testament of the King James Version of the Bible is based. The wise scholar, whether Catholic or Protestant, values the academic integrity behind the original translation of the KJV -- but also recognizes that in the nearly 400 years since that translation was produced, a plethora of new manuscripts have been discovered. These discoveries must be taken into consideration in order to achieve the best and most faithful translation. Westcott and Hort knew this, and devoted a great deal of their professional lives to the study and transmission of the Word of God. To malign these men because of a perceived slight to the King James Version is simply wrong -- both historically, academically, and morally. ... show more

  • Reasoning straight out of the Inquisition
It is the ultimate irony that a man who decries the dreaded Catholic influence on these two scholars would adopt their most draconian techniques in assailing them. Take the famous 'they must be heretics, they disagree with me' approach or 'Wescott and Hort must be demonized, after all the Jehovah's witness translation is based on their text'. This work is so devoid or any true scholarship that I was reticent to even write a review. I felt it my duty, however, to warn anyone who may be considering this purchase to spend your money elsewhere. Spending it on this would truly be a waste. ... show more

  • Full of heresy...not that of Westcott and Hort but D.A.Waite
The title Doctor before the author's name is the most confusing. Never, never, never believe the quotes of a person who quotes his enemies. He is not objective. I would recommend any reader to read the writings of Westcott and Hort directly and see how often they are quoted out of context. If you must read secondary sources, read at least they who knew each author well- there sons. The authors sons have written books about their fathers. ... show more
