I freaking love this thing! Definitely worth the money. The build feels very sturdy, especially for something designed to hold a 4 - 6 pound (guessing) saxophone. I really love how well they designed this stand. There are 5 points that fold in, making this very "square" when it is collapsed. It fits inside my gear bag perfectly. The folding points are also built very well. They all lock in with a spring loaded ball bearing that is easy to operate. The hinges move very smoothly and silently and feel solid. The legs of the stand are the perfect size. Not so short that it is unstable, but not so long that it gets in the way when on stage. The large rubber feet on each leg make this thing extremely stable. I also love the fact that this stand is "customizable". The bottom support slides up and down easily so it can be used for both alto and tenor saxophones. It also has a spot on one of the legs where you can add an additional peg for a flute, trumpet, etc. (sold seperately for about $10). This is a perfect fit for a tenor. I have purchased this twice. One for my alto and once for my tenor. It fits perfectly for my tenor. For the alto, I needed to squeeze the "u" (the upper part of the stand) to hold it more steadily, which it did. Very sturdy and portable. You need to make sure that you pay attention when you are placing the sax in the stand. It is possible that when you put it in, it may not be seated all the way. If this happens it can be a bit unstable, but DOES NOT get unstable enough to fall. So 5 stars all the way. You will not regret the purchase. Great value. ... show more

Hold a tenor sax just fine. It looks like it would be unstable but it is very solid. The bottom support is kind of floppy. It is easy to accidentally flip the bottom support up, and your horn will smack into the base. Probably best to secure the lower support with a rubber band. I bought this stand for my 14-year-old son. You know what? Having the sax out and ready to play has resulted in him playing the saxophone more than he ever has before. He doesn't have to get it out of the case and put it together every time. He plays before bed and whenever the mood strikes. For that reason alone, this stand is 100% worth it! ... show more
