Already assembled and taken apart. No…not because of any quality issues, rather my vegi garden is getting a make-over and I will place this arch as the final touch. In doing this test run, I realized how convenient this design is (both tall or wide). My initial plan was to trellis peas on the arch; but once I saw how routinely the parts can be disassembled and returned to the box for temp storage, I started thinking what fun I could have with holiday decorating. Imagine a ghostly arch with spider webs and a 5’ spider on the other side greeting guests, young & old (yes, I already have the spider – dang scary, too). Or drape colored lights as a warm welcome for the 4th, Christmas, or a birthday surprise. I don’t know what I enjoy more, my vegis or holidays. If permanently placed in the garden, I will secure it into the ground with short rebar posts and pull ties; and perhaps narrow strips of white gorilla duct tape at the joints to improve stability. Either use, it’s better priced and given the numerous design options available (one doesn’t need to assemble to its max height or width), it's a good, decorative piece to enjoy inside and out. ... show more

I'm changing this from a 1/5 to a 5/5. I didn't realize the narrow poles worked as the bolts. Verify you have the poles oriented the same way, the 2 end poles do matter in placement due to them lacking a bolt hole by design.

I think this would be great for indoor use as it isn't really heavy duty. I have other outdoor arches and the strength usually comes from staking them down and having the plants grow into them, but this one isn't initially very sturdy. It takes a bit to put it together and it isn't complicated to do. As an indoor arch or for somewhere outdoors where it would be protected from the wind, it's probably 4 stars. For overall use, quality, easy of assembly and value, it is not bad but not better than average either. ... show more

You have a choice of taller-and-narrower or shorter-and-wider, which is pretty nice I think. The arch is not very hefty so if used in a garden would definitely require staking out to avoid falling over. We don’t plan on using it in a garden anyway. It is earmarked for an indoor wedding and I think, adorned with copious amounts of flowers will look really nice. I think we will have to be careful to weight it down though. The base is not very wide and could quite easily topple if pushed. Its life post-wedding is undecided. It may end up in a garden, but I’m not sure how durable it will be in that role. It’s made of (my guess) mild steel with a plasticky coating that a few seasons of weather will likely get through. Might be helped by taping or using silicone on the joints to deter rust. From previous experience, trellising climbing plants (in my case red trumpet plants) means the arch can get nicely overgrown with robust plants while the arch underneath rots away. Replacing requires digging up the established plants. Just a few things to think about. At the price, and assuming you don’t care too much that it might not last more than a few seasons, it’s a steal. So recommended. ... show more

First off, I love the option to either put this together as a taller/narrower arch, or wider/lower one. Nice quality construction which doesn't take a lot of time to put together. I plan on spray-painting mine white. After putting it together, I think it is easier to paint if you take it apart (at least the sides and arch) instead of wasting a lot of spray paint outdoors to try and get it painted while it is together. Initially I wanted to use this for hanging living vines and plants in my garden, which would have looked amazing. But after seeing how lightweight and kind of flimsy it is, I opted not to do that. Instead, this is aimed at putting fake flowers and decorations on it for events like birthdays or weddings. See, balloons and fake plastic flowers weigh a ton less than vines which are full of water, plant meat, and photosynthesis, so you get the picture. Great for decorations for parties, not so great for hanging real living plants from it. I guess it will stay stored until I have parties here. ... show more

    • It is a bit flimsy and mine came with dirt added

I really cranked these bolts down and there is still some wobble. The wide arch is what I went with and at the very center it sags a tiny bit. It's because the tubes aren't an exact fit. The sag is minimal but noticeable. I plan on putting a shim in it so it tightens the fitting or maybe plug it with some silicone and let it dry without the sag so it's filled to maintain that shape. Pushing the side in also helps as it forces the arch shape so if you add like pots to hold the sides in position it helps. Or another reviewer used U shaped stakes to hold it. Also when I was putting it together alot of the bent tubes were filled with dirt as well as the bag they came in. I don't think it was used since it's not a part that actually sits in dirt. I just think this is negligence at the factory or whatever. Due to the sagginess and the added dirt it loses two stars. Once I put some work in to it it's going to be a 5 star item but that's not how it comes. ... show more

This was easy to put together and it's not super heavy so it's not a total chore to move. It's nice to have two different configurations. Hopefully it will hold up through the winter.
