  • Do What They're Designed To Do
First off, the biggest thing is to read the installation instructions. The springs are directional, and the U-bolts are different sizes depending on where they go. That being said the installation is fairly straightforward, there are some YouTube videos that will help. Adjustment is kind of trial and error, I highly suggest going to your local dealer and doing some unloaded measurements on new trucks to get the ride height correct. Our use was on an F150 police package, which carries about 600 pounds of gear in it. It wasn't sagging badly, but even the dealer was a bit freaked out at the amount of sway in the rear suspension. We installed these springs, got the ride height to where it would be unloaded, and installed the Hellwig sway bar. The difference is night and day, the ride is much better and the truck handles better than it did before the equipment was installed. ... show more

  • Firms up the F150s notoriously soft rear suspension
1997 through 2023 F150s have a very soft suspension for ride comfort unless you get the 7700 pound GVWR package from 1997-2004 or the HD payload package they have super soft rear springs, I know I have had 2004 Heritage F150 (aero body style) 2008 CrewCab 4.6, XL 4x4 long bed, 2013 Lariat 4x4 Screw, 3.5 EB, and a 2018 XLT Screw 3.5EB with max trailer tow package none of these trucks come close to my three gas powered F250s I have owned when it comes to towing stability, my two 3.5EBs 150s blow the 5.4 and 6.2 powered F250s out of the water in the power dept. I installed these hellwig springs on all of my F150s to increase towing weight handling and stability. I currently tow a 2022 East West Alto 2800KBH it is 34 tongue to bumper length with a 29 foot camper box weighs around 7100 empty and 7900-8000 fully loaded, well within the 12700 lb trailer towing capacity of my current 2018 F150 with Max Trailer tow package. These springs help give an additional 1 inch of lift under load and with carefully setup weight distribution hitch my camper and truck are level. I would not want to tow a larger trailer. I have towed heavier loads like a skid steer or even small excavators but this a large wind and sway load. ... show more

  • Quality Constuction
This item says made in USA and it shows . Well made and easy to install . It fit perfectly . I adjusted the springs up to almost maximum and the ride doesn't seem to be affected on my 2016 f-150 crew cab . There is no rattle noise from the springs while driving around empty . I haven't actually loaded it yet which I bought it for hauling my camper , but I think it would sure help support the 400lb tongue weight . ... show more

  • Disappointed!
Had these installed about three years ago. I still get much sag when I hook my 800lb tongue weight trailer to the truck. It is no different than without them.

  • Read the directions first . Also use a thread locker
Follow the directions the kit has different size u-bolts and need to be placed accordingly. Also while you are setting preload put some thread locker on the threads on the front and rear u-bolts otherwise they will loosen up

  • Seemed to be a return that was sent
Items werent all in plastic packages and one u-bolt was stripped, I had to go buy a new one so I incurred another $20 bucks expense, was easy to install but disappointed that I had to buy additional u-bolt, the one sent to me was obviously used….
