This is my first heated vest and so far I’m very pleased. I had missed the NO BATTERY part of the description so I ordered a 30,000 mAh battery that is made for heated vests. You’ll need one for this batteries too. The vest uses a 3.8mm DC male plug so make sure the battery you order has a 3.8mm female port. The battery needs to provide 7.4 volts. Amazon has several good ones to choose from. Mine was $36. Added to the vest price and you are at about $84. For a nice heated vest like this, that’s not bad. If you are looking at other vests check out the volts and mAh. Some have more heating elements but come with a very small battery. Plug in your battery and slip it into the pocket. You’ll see the two buttons on the left flash for a moment. Hold either button for 3 seconds to turn on the zone. The buttons are labeled “back” and “belly” and control their zones independently. For walking, skiing etc both would be great. Sitting with something behind you, like a tractor seat ,makes the back heater very warm indeed. There are 3 elements in the back and all 3 are work together at the same time. The front has left and right elements that are, as the name suggests, on the belly area. There are no elements over the chest. I ordered the vest in extra large size that seems to run a little large. The fabric is a nice fleece that is warm all on its own. The pockets are lined and comfortable. The battery goes in a pocket so there is only one empty one. The tailoring is good with no loose threads and a smooth zipper action. There is even a nice mesh pocket on the inside. These are nice features. The Far Infrared Heating elements get heat through the fabric and into your skin more effectively than a wire heating element would. It’s safer too. The elements heat up very quickly. I wore it under a heavy jacket for a long walk with the dogs today. Even in the very cold weather here I had to turn it to the second setting. An overcoat really helped keep the heat in. I tried it without the overcoat but the heat was more localized to the elements without it. After wearing this vest daily, indoors and out, I’m a big fan. If there is a downside it’s that it’s sometimes a bit too warm right under the heating elements. On cold winter days that can be a good problem. ... show more

Was very excited to purchase the vest. Arrived, very soft. Good fit. However, the battery pack required is not a regular battery pack. My husband has a vest similar. His vest takes a standard battery pack (same as cellphones)

I missed that it did not come with the battery even though it is clearly right there. I did find a pack for it pretty easily. I almost missed that there was a little extender/adapter for the cord type. It is really simple to use and works really well. It heats up pretty fast and feels warm all over. It would be great to wear at a kids game or at work. Someone in the house is a crossing guard and borrowed it to test out on an early morning. They said it was so nice and warm, and even better they didn't need a ton of bulky layers on to stay warm. It made them feel like they could move around easier which is important when directing the cars. ... show more
