You can see through it and it does magnify but you get exactly what you would expect for a $10 monocular. A small set of binoculars would be 10 times more valuable then trying to use these.

Pleasantly surprised with the quality of this compact little Monocular Telescope. My husband uses it to keep "an eye" out on the wildlife roaming our property. Lol. He is an outdoor fanatic and was very excited to "see" how far the range was on this little beauty.
