    • Beautiful, feature-rich, and yes, you can control it with your wall switch
My wife and I have been remodeling two of our bathrooms for the last few weeks and decided to install lighted mirrors instead of separate mirrors and lights. We ordered one of these lights after scanning all the lights offered on Amazon and other sites, and found this one to be the best value with the features we wanted. The light encircles the mirror, which gives us the same effect as a "ring light", which many professional photographers and videographers use. The light can be adjusted in both intensity and color (warm light or cool light) with the touch of a button, and it stays that way after you shut it off and then turn it back on... so you don't have to constantly be adjusting the light. And yes, you can turn it on with a wall switch or have it wired so that you turn it on or off at the unit itself. (Many other brands that we looked at, say nothing about switch control, and in fact can't be controlled with a switch, so beware). The mirror was extremely easy to install and they furnish wall anchors/screws for different applications... wood, brick, sheetrock, etc. The electrical connections couldn't have been easier... either plug-in to a wall socket or hardwire with ease. I've seen other reviewers mention that they worried that the light from the mirror was strong enough to light the entire bathroom, thinking that they might need additional light sources. Of course, everyone is different, and the size and layout of the bathroom will certainly make a difference, but for our 12' x 6' bathrooms, this mirror/light combination was definitely enough to light the entire room We liked the first one so much that we ordered another. As fate would have it, despite the fact that the packaging is incredibly strong and secure, it is glass, and that one was damaged in shipping. And since I hate returning things, I dreaded contacting the company to find out what to do. I shouldn't have worried at all. In the box there were instructions on what to do if there was damage to the unit. I took a few pictures of the damage, attached them to an email and sent it off. Within just a couple hours, in the middle of the night, I received a reply to tell me not to worry, and that they had already sent out an order for a replacement to be shipped to us. A couple days later, I had another question, and that one was answered within minutes, complete with a tracking number for the replacement mirror. Incredible service. I could not recommend this company more highly. Superb. The second bathroom now has the mirror/light combination installed... very easy, again, and we couldn't be happier. I ordered these in 2019. I installed them in our master bath remodel in early 2020. We have been using them for approximately 8 months and I'm extremely happy with them. They are packaged very well. 1/2" MDF is used to surround the edges of the mirror inside the box. I was very impressed how much detail was put into the packaging. The installation is very easy. I screwed the two mounting screws into 2x4 cross-bracing between my studs since I rebuilt the wall where they were installed. I didn't use the drywall anchors supplied. I installed recessed outlets in the wall behind each mirror and utilized the plug supplied with each mirror. The outlets are wired to the old switch which used to control the can lights in a soffit over the two sinks in the original bathroom. They were not good. Shadows on our face, especially under your chin. I didnt want over-the-mirror lights for the same reason although they would have been better than what we had. I could have put side light sconces on both sides of two mirrors but the space was tight on the left side of the vanity. Those would have been better yet but not near what a surrounding light can do. If you have the opportunity to fix the problem, why not go all the way. The surrounding light of these LED mirrors is fantastic. They have two light color settings via the touch sensitive button on the lower right surface of the mirror. "On" brings on warm light, touch again and the light turns cool. We like the cool setting because it brings out all of those things you really don't want to see, but, that's why you are standing in front of a mirror. We leave ours on the cool setting so when we turn on the wall switch they both come on. The back of the mirror is approximately 1 1/4" deep. (I can't recall off-hand). I chose to mount them flat on the wall but I built a surround to include a recess between the mirrors for a medicine cabinet so they look like they are "built-in". Now that I've worked with them it would be easy to built a picture frame to set them into to mount on the wall. You might be able to take them to a frame shop as you would a picture to frame. I would buy these again without hesitation. Each person's preference for lighting is different but we love these. Good luck with your remodel! ... show more

    • Perfect mirror, good lighting, anti-fog is so-so.

This was about as easy to install as a normal mirror, despite the large box for the LED lighting and anti-fog. The instructions and plastic template took the guesswork out of it. It is sturdy so once it's correctly installed you don't have to worry about it breaking. The controls are easy and fun to use! Once you read the instructions and play with them a bit they are entirely simple to understand. One word of warning, I mistakenly turned off the controls with a slow push while the lights were out and they went dark. You can do the same thing with the anti-fog control. Scared me thinking I somehow broke my brand new mirror. Took about a minute to figure out how to get them back on. The lighting on this mirror is not what I had hoped for. If I turn it all the way up so it lights my bathroom, which is fairly small for a master bath, then it is really too bright. That seems to just be a result of having the LEDs go all the way around the mirror. I think if they put extra lights at the top, then it would do a better job of lighting the entire bathroom without blinding you. I also have a led light exhaust fan in the bathroom. These two combined work perfectly. Finally, the anti-fog does the job, but not extremely well. I notice that directly after getting out of the shower, there is a spot in the middle of the mirror, about 1 ft square, that is fog free, with a smaller spot below tht about 4 inches wide that is also free of fog. The rest of the mirror is fogged up. It only takes about a minute or so after shutting off the water that the mirror is virtually fog free. Overall, I am very happy with the mirror and will definitely purchase from this company again if I need a LED mirror or other product from them. ... show more
