I tried out two different sets of bowls before I found these. I was looking for something more substantial than cereal bowls. Something that would work just as well for soups and for salads, or a breakfast creation. These bowls did the trick. The first set of bowls only stacked on top of each other, not inside each other, so they were unstable in the cabinet and the capacity was a little lacking. The second set stacked very nicely and had adequate capacity, but they had a rough texture inside and out. The roughness on the outside made them very easy to hold on to securely, but inside, the sound of a spoon or fork rubbing against it raised the hair on the back of my neck. So back they went. Then I found these. They stack very nicely, they have a smooth surface inside and out but are slightly wavy on the outside so your fingers fit in place around them so they are not easily dropped. And the capacity of the bowls was perfect. I love they way they feel in my hands when I hold them to eat. Also, the company that makes these makes matching bowls of different sizes along with matching plates, and other dishware. So, as time goes on, I can build a matching set in my favorite color. I originally bought eight of these, but they are much larger than I expected; however, they are so versatile. I only needed cereal bowls, but these four work efficiently for that and even pasta or serving sides. Quality very good.

    • Just what I was looking for
I got a hold of a couple stoneware plates ages ago that had a lip on them and loved them. Somehow or another a family member wound up with them and they were not coming back to me. So I went on a search…. and searched… and searched. It’s not that rimmed plates weren’t out there, but I’d hesitate over the horrible reviews of bubbles in the glaze or how another would scratch easily. I came across these and decided to take a chance. Yes, I know the listing is for bowls, but I found the plates first and then decided to add the matching bowl set, and I am glad I did. Not only are these within a decent price range, but the color is lovely- like a buttery caramel and cream. The pictures they show here do them no justice. These bowls are filled with rustic, homey charm that work well with a variety of design styles and colored kitchens. And they are a good size- you aren’t going to go overboard on eating, but it will still hold a decent serving of chili or cereal. Not that I need more than this, but I am tempted to order another set and just store them for any future “accidents” the men in my home may have. Doubt I’ll need them though as these are a nice and sturdy weight, but comfortable to hold, even with my disability. Take a chance on these- you won’t be disappointed. ... show more
