Wasn’t sure at first because it’s so expensive for a stool but it’s worth it. The rungs are a little narrow but I like the look. I like how it can close and stand on its own when closed, you don’t realize how convenient that is. I almost like seeing this out more than hiding it. it looks put away and like it belongs anywhere you put it because it stands on its own. Love this product, definitely worth it! I needed a step stool to get access to the taller rack of my high closet. The mint green is such a pretty but subtle color.     • Slippery! Do not use in socks!

Nicely built, and generally opens and closes quietly (my last step ladder clattered loudly, which became fatiguing) but you should know that using this with socks is dangerous- the treads are very slippery. The lower treads are quite narrow too. If you have any unsteadiness in balance or gait (getting older, bad ankle...) I would stay away. I suspect the sock issue will be a real drag going forward, as I use a step ladder daily to reach upper cabinets, and who wants to put on sneakers just to use a step ladder? I might return it if I hadn't thrown out the packaging... ... show more

I love this ladder. I have purchased two of them. The design is brilliant! A lever underneath the top allows the ladder to open and fold together. When folded shut, it stands on its own, making it very easy to store. It comes in trendy, yet classic colors, and actually looks good. The ladder is pricer than other ladders but I'm willing to pay for quality and thoughtful design. Hasegawa, the company, makes many sizes and versions. I will buy the taller version in the future. The good things about this step ladder are that it looks good, it is extremely sturdy, and you can't easily pinch your fingers or hurt yourself using it. The down side is that it is kind of bulky, and when folded up it still takes up a lot of space. You need a 7 inch deep area to stash it when it is folded flat, whereas my old step ladder collapsed down to under 2 inches.
